I'm so glad to get a chance to extol the kudos of CRRC in Sattler. I am an avid 'shopper' at the Thrift Store, which is not only "fun" to shop due to it's well-organized items, but the caliber of clothing, housewares and furniture is excellent. Also, I am a member of the Silver Sneakers and the facility at the Rec Center is outstanding - as well as the trainers. Many Seniors in this community would never be able to participate in an exercise program if it wasn't for this center. And... I also use the Senior Event Center - will have my 55th Anniversary Celebration there in April. There's so much more I could say about the CRRC, but space dictates. The people who actually 'run' this organization are the BEST!

Terrific resource for the community at Canyon Lake, Tx, from exercise programs to special events for seniors and youngsters, as well as lots of sporting events! We would have a hard time without the CRRC!

CRRC at Canyon Lake, Texas, provides an essential service to the Canyon Lake community. As a rural population, resources in the area are somewhat limited in terms of opportunities available; however, CRRC enlists a very creative staff to provide excellent exercise and sports programs as well as a much-needed food bank for residents of this area.
I have participated in the Silver Sneakers exercise program for seniors since retiring four years ago and have watched a dedicated group of individuals in all types of physical abilities engage in exercise and friendship.
CRRC is very active in community initiatives and provides a superb service to all age groups. I highly recommend them as a recipient of the $5000 grant. Thank you.

CRRC is a wonderful organization that serves its communityand those in need. It offers a variety of exercise classes which I have benefited from for many years. It offers help to those in need. The people involved in the CRRC are the best and most gracious ever. The exercise instructors are all certified and really keeps us senior citizens moving. This is a great organization that has a real presence in this community.

I use CRRC three times a week to participate in Silver Sneakers classes which not only is good areobic exercise but is also good in as much as it gives me a reason to get up on mornings when I just feel like sleeping in. An added benefit is socialising with other people an also being able to get input on computer projects from people who are more computer savy than me.

The CRRC of Canyon Lake is a vital part of the community. I participate in Silver Sneakers exercise classes and the classes are always full. Some participants are in their 90's.

They also hold a Christmas program that I took my granddaughter to.

There is always something
happening at CRRC!

Add a swimming pool - especially a children's pool. There are alot of bodies of water in the area available for sporting; but they are not appropriate for children facing health issues such as immuno-supressed. A children's/adults pool is greatly needed and would definitely be used! Add a walking/jogging trail around the entire complex with outdoor exercise stations.

We have the best CRRC anywhere. Wide variety of opportunities are available to all ages. The facility is great, especially since we have the new A/C & Heat. The folks who provide the daily programs are the best anywhere. As a Senior, it gives me the oppportunity to meet other folks and have the conviences that otherwise would make me drive many miles to obtain.

Exercise classes for Seniors called Silver Sneakers, Yoga, Weight Watchers, Sports, blood pressure checks and endless opportunities for seniors like myself who need to be involved in the community in which I live. This is a great facility with great personnel who are always there to help us stay involved. I think we are so fortunate to have hard workers who make al this possible.

CRRC has helped me in several ways. It has provided a place to come and meet others who are interested in making our community a better one to live in. I have been a part of two different exercise groups that meet there, and I believe the classes I attend there help my physical and mental health. It has also been used by numerous community organizations: to raise money at Fiish Fries or Craft Sales, and just as a meeting site.
In addition it has been a part of our local Meals on Wheels service, and it regularly serves as a place to donate used items, the sales of which are donated back to the community.

I moved to the Canyon Lake area last summer and was thrilled to learn about aerobic classes at the CRRC. From the first day, both staff and participants have made me feel so welcome and a part of the group. As a result of visiting the CRRC, I have made many new friends and learned about my new community.

I am a "Winter Texan" from Minnesota. In December CRRC had a fun and beautiful Christmas sales event attended by, I'd say, most of the people in the surrounging area. December is also the time some of us "Winter Texans" joined the Line Dancing class and Silver Sneakers exercise program at CRRC. The Line Dancing instructor is Hati Cantu, who has a bright, sunny and effervescent personality and is a fantastic person to be teaching us senior citizens to dance. It takes a lot of patience and perseverance which Hati has, in spades. And our Silver Sneakers exercise instructor, Kristie, is a veritable bundle of energy, always happy and seemingly carefree whenever we see her, whether in our out of CRRC, I wish we could clone her to lead our Silver Sneakers exercise class in Minnesota. I feel that CRRC deserves the $5,000 giveaway for 2011 for all the good they do for ourselves and others within the community.

I live in blaine, minnesota and am in canyon lake, texas for the winter. The Canyon Lake CRRC is a wonderful place with many healthy options for people to stay physically fit. I attend Line Dancing on Tuesdays and Thursdays for an hour. I attend Silver Sneakers aerobics for an hour on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Christi is the aerobics instructor and she is awesome. Hati Cantu is the line dancing instructor and she is the sweetest, most wonderful and fun person I have ever met. THis place should be available for the entire nation and there would not be the problem with obesity because moving and exercising is such fun at the Canyon Lake CRRC !!
