I have only lived in Canyon Lake only a few years. I had volunteered in a food pantry previously in another town. One of the first person invited me to tour tha CRRC food pantry. I was unaware of the great need of its services in the area. After I became a volunteer I began to how much people were being helped. The clients were extremely thankful for their help, some leaving with tears in eyes. I am so thankful for such a caring place. Noone knows when they may help. I feel that people always have a friendly and safe place to get help at the C R R C.
I have volunteered at the CRRC food pantry for almost two years and I can feel the love and compassion that the staff exhibits to the clients who come in for food or financial help. Those in need are never turned down.
What a Great way to help those in need. I went in not expecting much of anything. Boy was I wrong; I've met other volunteers from all different walks of life wanting to share the same thing. TO HELP OTHERS!! The reward is unmeasurable!! I've met a great new group of people to work along side of me. It's a wonderful place to lay your judgements down and reach out to those that need help. When the customers leave and say Thankyou, that is all I need. They have touched my heart!!
I have been volunteering at the CRRC food panty for the last two years. I went into this endeavor thinking I would just go and do a little to help out. I did not think much would come of it, just helping out a little. I soon found out I was just kidding myself. I actually liked what I was doing. Then, I started liking the people I was "working" with, WOW. I did not think this was going to affect me any at all. Well, guess what?. I really liked helping others. I found there were so many people in our area that needed help, and the CRRC food pantry helped with their needs. I was the last one to think that you really did receive when you first gave. So if you want to feel good, then give a little and you will receive much more. That is all I can say.

I have been volunteering in the Meals on Wheels program at CRRC of Canyon Lake, Texas for over a year now. I can positively say it has been such a blessing in my life to deliver meals weekly to the elderly in our community. It has given me an awareness of the vast needs of the elderly in my community. The words of thanks and "God bless you" I hear at almost every delivery are so touching. To get to visit with these sweet people and share a little in their lives brings me so many joys and blessings. CRRC is fulfilling so many needs in our community. Not only the Meals on Wheels program, but a food pantry and clothing for the needy. When people who are so down come through the doors, they are met with love and a caring person to listen to their needs and provide for their needs. We are so blessed to have CRRC in our community, and I love being a volunteer with this great non-profit!
I love to vegetable garden, and decided to increase the size of my garden to allow me to share the excess with my community. I regularly donate my home grown vegetables to CRRC throughout the year. Each time I walk into CRRC to make a donation, I am met with the most wonderful staff and volunteers. I am pleased that CRRC gives me the opportunity to share a small part of what I love to do with my local community. Thank-you!

The pleasure of feeling the thanks and appreciation of the clients we serve is really the high point of any job or duty that I have experienced in my 60 plus years of dealing with the public.Getting to know the clients in their homes lets you see a part of the community that few see. I am always reminded and made aware of how much CRRC means to the members of this community.
I have been a volunteer at CRRC for eight years and have been an active volunteer in four different communities over the past twenty years. CRRC is the most compassionate and effective non-profit organization I have experienced. They not only serve the community but provide meaningful volunteer opportunities for over 100 volunteers. The organization provides food and finances to the less fortunate, meals on wheels to those unable to provide, durable medical equipment to those in need, recreation to all who come forth, programs for the elderly, and various other programs to meet the changing needs of our community. I am proud to be a small part of the outstanding organization.
I am a volunteer at CRRC, but I find that I am in fact getting paid by the wonder of seeing exactly what it does, what it means to the truly needy in the Canyon Lake area. Numerous recipients have told me that ere it not for the food and/or assistance CRRC has given them their families would have been hungry all month, or their utilities would have been shut off. Others have expressed their appreciation for wheelchairs and medical equipment provided them at no cost. What has moved me the most has been the happy expressions on the face of toddlers and children at seeing the bags of groceries which they are taking home, because in some cases they have had to do with little or nothing to eat that day. I have also delivered Meals on Wheels to the elderly and/or infirm residents, and their blessings upon receiving the meals mean very much to me. CRRC is a caring, compassionate and efficient provider of desperately-needed food and services - and I am proud to be a small part of it.
As a non-profit that serves the underprivileged members of the community, CRRC stands out for its kind, compassionate staff and volunteers who treat clients with the utmost in caring and respect. People who come to the Resource Center for food or financial assistance are always met and greeted by a smiling, welcoming and caring volunteer or a staff member who genuinely wants to listen, understand and provide the most complete and prompt service while guarding the "client's" privacy and dignity.

As a volunteer at the Food Pantry, I see forst hand the operation and the performance of the staff and volunteers. What imoresses me the most is the absolute courtesy, kindness and respect the "clients" are treated with from everybody. You would think these are "paying customers" the way everybody treats them. I wish to single out Ms. Maureen Schein the Resource Program Director. She greets everybody with a warm, sincere and welcoming smile. She is very patient. helpful and courteous to those who have difficulty communicating their needs to her. I am so blessed to be a part of this wonderful group of people and this organization whose mission is best described as "Doing God's Work"
