I work at a Title 1 school in the area and Crayons to Classrooms helps me supply many of my students with supplies they would often not have because they can't afford them! I love visiting and supplying my classroom with all of their wonderful things!

This nonprofit organization allows me to receive much needed supplies for my students, who often can't afford them. With the lack of funding we're experiencing in education, it helps alleviate some costs for supplies that our district can't afford and helps me avoid spending so much of my own money on student and classroom supplies.

I am a teacher at North Dayton School of Discovery. This is my eighth year and my third year with "Crayons to Classrooms" (C2C). The students rave about the available gifts given to them from C2C. Thank you Ever So Much for all that you do and have done. Dr. Quintin Jordan

This was the first year that my school was able to shop. My staff was not sure what to expect. Once there, they were hooked! We were all so impressed by the clean and organized facility. The shopping experience was incredible. Teachers loaded their carts to the gills. The next day at school I saw teachers comparing their "purchases" and beginning to use their items in their classrooms. Students were heard commenting about all of the "cool" items their teachers got for their classroom. We cannot wait to go back.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have been able to share the items purchased with students, staff and families at my school. Everyone was so excited to receive these items that we would have either purchased with our own money or gone without.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

At this point, our experience has been nothing but positive. I don't have any suggestions for changes.

Crayon to Classrooms is such a wonderful resource for my school. The teachers all wait in anticipation for our day to "shop". We rush out of school to get there. Then the conversation turns to the myriad ways the items are used......makeup brushes for painting, ice cream cartons for sorting or carrying "centers" to desks, etc. The atmosphere is energized! All of the volunteers are friendly and very helpful. I am so thankful to be a beneficiary of this wonderful organization!

Crayons to Classrooms has been so wonderful for my students and for me! We had the honor of being the first school to visit and we looking forward to each time we get to go back! It means so much to have a place to get supplies for our students who can't afford to do so! For a student, it can be very stressful when you can't afford your supplies. Many times the same student doesn't even know where they will eat dinner! Crayons to Classrooms allows teacher to reduce just a little bit of that stress! The staff there is so amazing! Thank you for all you do! See you next semester!!

Our firm selects 1-2 chariiesy each year to support through financial, marketing and volunteering efforts. We were made aware that Crayons to Classrooms existed the middle of last year. It is amazing what they have accomplished in such a short time of existence! This is only possible due to the stellar leadership of Steve Rubenstein, his team including Deb Seger and the incredible volunteers that give so much. Steve has made a concentrated effort to get the DC2C mission told to as many corporations as possible and the organization, teachers and students are now reaping the rewards of sewing these seeds. Our community needs Crayons to Classrooms and we're blessed to have great leadership to help it grow!

As a classroom teacher at an inner-city high school with students who live below the poverty level and struggle for the basics of food and material goods, I appreciate the dedication and service that the team members from Crayons to Classrooms show towards their organization. They truly care about serving the needs of the teachers and schools so that students can get the supplies they need to be more successful in the classroom. One of my students faces daily challenges in her home life that many of us cannot even imagine. By coming to school daily, she exudes strength in her character as a teenager that most adults do not yet know or fully develop. She wants to study to be a nurse after graduation. She has set that goal so that she can help others. She does not have any family support, so school supplies were not part of the "Back to School" experience or tradition for her. Thanks to Crayons to Classrooms, she has a backpack, a binder, notebooks, dividers, markers, pencils, pens, and the other basics that she needs to be able to continue her high school education and successfully graduate. As a teacher, I was able to provide for her needs privately without hesitation because of the generosity of the donors to the Crayons to Classrooms Program. I was in the audience this past spring when program updates were shared with the county commissioners. Everything mentioned about the worthiness of this organization is true. My daughter and I have also volunteered to help with shoppers earlier this year and entered inventory to support this worthwhile program. Before my school was added to the shopping client list, I was able to volunteer to earn a shopping trip for my classroom. They make it so easy to want to be a part of this great organization. The entire focus is on getting supplies into the hands of the students to support their learning. I cannot say enough nice things about this fantastic organization and the people I have met there!

Crayons to Classrooms is a great organization to work with! They make every project impactful for both local students and the donors and volunteers who participate. What an inspiring organization to volunteer for!

They provide much needed school supplies to the region. They aid both teachers and students in a way that is so basic yet urgently needed.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

give them more prominent warehouse space more centrally located (at a cheap price of course!)

Crayons to Classrooms highlights a need for schools that serve low income students. They stock a wide variety of school supplies that teachers can then come and "shop" for (all for free). Many people have heard that teachers spend their own money to provide things that their students need. This nonprofit has opened the eyes of the citizens of Dayton, OH, and allowed the community to take this burden off teachers' shoulders. The office and store are well-run and the staff excellent. A model organization.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Through organizing a drive in our American Heritage Girls scout troop, I was able to educate the girls and their families about kids that don't have educational necessities.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Expand the number of schools that they can help. However, this can only happen as they have supplies and funds to do so.

I participated in a project for Deloitte & Touche's annual community service day at Crayons to Classrooms. This prompted me to organize a supply drive with the scout troop I am involved with.
