As a Consulting Grant Writer for CEG, I had an opportunity to examine in detail CEG's impact on their community. CEO A. Toni Young has an impressive history of commitment to serving the health needs of women marginalized by race, economic status, and/or HIV positive status. The innovative solutions CEG delivers, such as CHAMPS and SISTA focus on empowering women to meet their own needs and stand up for themselves through providing a toolkit of skills.

I have worked with this group for many years. They are dedicated and very professional. As a professional with expertise in working with people living with HIV/AIDS, I have worked with many non-profit organization, however, CEG appears to be most dedicated to the community. They get the word out about HIV/AIDS and prevention. The staff is very visible in the community. I am always happy to work with the CEG staff. I've worked with this group since 2004. In my business, I work with many associations and non-profits. However, at CEG, I've seen a level of dedication to getting the help to the community that I've rarely seen at some similar organizations. They run the overhead very lean and mean - - these people do NOT have cushy offices or spend money on comforts for the staff, and all the resources that they get are directed at helping get the word out to prevent the spread of HIV and to try to contain this epidemic among the most vulnerable in their community. Each time I work with them, I always enjoy the fact that our company is getting to help the community in a small way. I'm glad they exist and they are worthy of your support! The spread of HIV/AIDS is very tragic because it is ultimately very preventable if there is education to the at risk population. And that's really the mission I see the staff here focused on every day.

CEG has a dedicated and non-judgemental staff of individuals from the community in which they work. Thier passion and compassion show in everything they do-I recently facilitated groups at CEG for women and was impressed how the staff catered to the women's needs and provided a safe space for the empowerment groups weekly! Go CEG!!

Hat's off and Kudos to CEG! It has been my priviledge to work with this organization to help give back to the community. I have been inspired to develop my housing program further by seeing theresults of the programs offered by CEG. I am inspired by the committment of the staff and CEO, A. Toni Young, to continue to work towards developing more programmming to help the young, infirmed and disenfranchized in the District of columbia. Keep up the good work!!
