I am recently a new Vista volunteer with CIS and I am very excited to work with this organization. My son has excelled in school due to the Dream Team. This program has been a lifesaver.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

A personal way, To see a child thrive because a local organization took the interest to watch our children grow is a great gift.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

All I can say is that I hope to bring my very best to this organization.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The cause, the people and their passion for what they do.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

FANTASTIC, exciting and all so talented.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Continue to benefit our community of children to be their very best.

Ways to make it better...

So far so good.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Finding more funding.

One thing I'd also say is that...

This is an exciting time for me personally. I am very excited about what I will be learning and what I may be able to bring to the table. This is going to be an exceptional opportunity for all of us.

My name is Molly Jefferds and I worked in Nassau county as a Career Coach at Fernandina Beach High School and I loved every minute of it!!! I was truly inspired by this community that immediately stepped up and got involved with the students when asked. Their desire to help really made my job easy and I think it gave the students the impression that they were worth it. I am so proud of so many of the students who stepped out of their comfort zones and put their all into the Mock Interviews or took the time to really listen to a Career Speaker. These students are our future and I am so proud to have had a hand in paving the way for them.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

that I have seen the growth of many of it's students. I especially enjoyed helping the students find their inner strength. My experience has helped me to see more in people than what is on the surface. Many people just need someone to believe in them!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the lives of so many young people. While CIS does a fantastic job of stretching the money they do have, the impact would certainly multiply if they were given the opportunity to grow.

Ways to make it better...

Communities-In-Schools had access to more money. As a former staff member I would have liked to have taken students on college visits, brought in motivational speakers to help prevent students from dropping out of school, and more.

CIS Nassau is one of the reasons the School District of Nassau County continues to be an "A" school district. By meeting the supplementary needs of our students, especially our lowest quartile, CIS improves the overall success of our schools. From basic math and grammer instruction, to teaching job interview skills, CIS does more than fill an academic void; they touch students' lives.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

...the passion of the people and the flexibility in service.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

...always willing to help. They worked with the staff at the school and tried to meet the needs as best they could.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Full-time teacher in every school to address the lowest quartile; after school program in every school-lowest,gifted & others; after school tech teacher; job coach to get a job and help after employment; college and life coach;

Ways to make it better...

...there were a bigger budget and more personnel.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

...funds to provide the level of service they would like to provide.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I started typing my answer to the 10 million dollar question and the form cut me off. As a result, I was unable to explain my response. I went back and wrote a list. I could spend the money!

I had a wonderful experience teaching for and getting to know the directors of CIS. I enjoyed the work I did and appreciated all the hard work of my colleagues. they repeatedly went above the call of duty to help students prepare themselves for future careers, job interviews and other skills that are needed upon graduation.
