As a member of a local church who wants to help those in need, this concept of healthy recipes was an excellent way to inspire our congregation to gather all of the ingredients for a low-cost, healty meal which could then be given to a local food pantry or a family in need. And we've also had many try the recipes themselves for a cost-effective and quick alternative in their own homes.

C.A.N. offers local families in need all the ingredients needed to prepare a nutritious meal. By providing the recipe, this meal can be replicated at low cost to the family. As a physician in this community, I greatly appreciate the opportunity to offer families a meal that provides more nutrition through such foods as beans and grains.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
feed more families and, more importantly, teach us all more creative ways to prepare meals. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Communities about Nutrition enriches the offerings at local food pantries by providing donations of such fresh foods as milk, yogurt, cheeses, eggs, etc. whose costs are underwritten by locals. It also makes nutritional meal getting for those using food pantries that much easier by providing healthy recipes that come complete with all needed ingredients. They provide a dedicated, creative approach to making lower income meals the best they can be.
