I have known about CJ Acres since they came to Keystone Heights and was fasinated with the fact that the Sacketts cared so passionatly about what they do, they would relocate the animals with them. Seeing the changes in the animals is a wonderful thing. CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm provides for the animals that are not the common household pet - horses, pigs and ducks. They are truly the "in-need" animals of negelect and abuse.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the animals change from abused animals to trusting, sensitive creatures.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the loyality the animals show to the people who care for them and the love and respect Lee and Jennifer show to them.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand it's facilities and care for more animals in need.

Ways to make it better...

I could go out there more often and interact with the animals. Time is always a problem.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

getting the financial assistance and the physical help they need to grow.

You may have heard the saying "I don't know if animals go to heaven when they die, but if they don't, I want to go where they go." This always reminds me of CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm as many of the animals who come from abused and neglected lives are "reborn" when they arrive at this special, all-volunteer run charitable organization. Horses that were starved find all the hay, grain and fruit they could dream of. Dogs who were abandoned now have friends (both human and canine) to play with. Pigs, once contained in small 2' x 7' crates in condemned factory farms, upon arrival, are thrilled to have acres to explore. And, goats who were malnourished on what little scrub they could find in their "previous lives" are now quite pleased with their diet of grain, hay and fresh vegetables. The volunteers, board members, and founders all share a passion for rescuing, rehabilitating and reintroducing in-need animals. It's a magical place with nothing but happy endings.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

watching the transformations of an abused, abandoned or neglected animal. To witness the process of distrust or malnutrition turn into confidence and optimal health is nothing short of miraculous.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

kind, generous, patient and absolutely incredible human beings.

Ways to make it better...

I had only partnered with this organization sooner.

One thing I'd also say is that...

some charities have big staffs, expensive rents and high marketing budgets that reduce the effectiveness of received donations. Not this group, as all staff are unpaid volunteers, land/facilities are donated and they really stretch every dollar received.

I have had the good fortune to be associated and board member/officer of many non-profit organizations over the past 20 years. In that time you get a feel for the quality organizations that live and believe in their purpose and those that are there for all the wrong reasons. CJ Acres is one of those quality organizations that lives for their purpose. The founding members and caretakers of CJ Acres have a passion for the lucky animals who are fortunate to be adopted. The organization realizes that they are all about the animals and making their lifes better. Another unique feature is CJ Acres addresses the plight of needy farm animals. There are lots of worthy organzations that take care of domestic pets, wild animals and endangered species but very few that provide a safe haven for abused, neglected or needy farm animals. CJ Acres meets that need. Through donations and volunteer time CJ Acres can continue to grow and make a difference in the lifes of farm animals that need a caring and nurturing environment.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The commitment and care of adopted animals.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

follow in the foot steps of the current founders.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the devotion and commitment by the founders and the Board of Directors.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

strongly committed and devoted to the cause of animals and their quality of life

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Be a grass roots organization that spreads its good through out the country in saving and enhancing the lifes of abused & neglected animals while also providing education that could help to stop the conditions these animals have had to endure.

Ways to make it better...

I had more time to devote to the cause - there is never enough time.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the gross amount of abuse and lack of respect people can have toward animals, the need to raise funds to help more animals and the over producing of animals that our society then feels are disposable.

One thing I'd also say is that...

CJ Acres needs the support and donations of individuals who believe all animals should be treated in a humane manner.
