City Green is one of the most established urban agriculture non profits in New Jersey that brings hands on solutions to creating educational oportunities around nutrition, gardening, farming and food. We think they're the best!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Working with them through the NJ Farm to School Network.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

find them oodles of funding so they could keep doing what they do best.

City Green does an incredible job connecting young people with gardening, healthy eating and the great outdoors. This group's passion is tangible and it's accomplishments are an inspiration to the rest of us. I operate a youth gardening website and come across many, many organizations, but few do it as well as City Green.

I've written articles about City Green, and featured one of its garden-based recipes in my new children's book, Our Super Garden, as an example of a successful program making a difference with children.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Expand its reach.

City Green provides hands on education and activities for children and other community members, empowering the community to create greener urban environments and advance sustainable community objectives while creating more beautiful and productive spaces.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I've seen them in action and their results in Paterson NJ where I spend most of my time!

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Get them more resources and help them green every part of the City we can!

Wow! I've been building school gardens with City Green during the 2009-2010 School Year. The teachers and their amazing students give me hope and inspiration. What a dynamic group of educators!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the dawning awareness in the faces of students who suddenly understand where food comes from, why it matters why we grow it ourselves, and how seeds really do grow into edible plants.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

meeting the teachers and students of the Paterson and Jersey City Public Schools. They are a tremendous inspiration.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

develop school gardens at urban schools all over northern NJ. They could provide teacher training for science teachers from far and wide to integrate gardening into the everyday school curricula.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
