Five years ago I lost my dog of 15 ½ years. After about a week I started to cruise PetFinder.com to look at dogs available. Apparently I completed a pre-adoption application for Circle Tail and did not even remember when I did it. When I got their email saying that I was approved I had to go to the web to see who they were! As they say, things do happen for a reason. I adopted my dog from Circle Tail about 3 weeks later and I could not be happier. My Callie (aka Raika a boxer/lab mix) is absolutely amazing...any person who meets her falls in love with her! I tell everyone about Circle Tail and the wonderful work they do for everyone they come in contact with – dogs, owners, volunteers and the handlers. These handlers give their hearts and souls to these wonderful dogs and their hard work is so evident…I see their efforts every time I look at my dog. I hope that they know how appreciative we all are for their unselfish acts of love. I loved my experience so much that my best friend who lives in Pennsylvania drove 7 hours to adopt a dog from Circle Tail. Anyone who makes any kind of contribution to Circle Tail (donation, time or adopting a dog) can be assured that their donation benefits so many people and dogs. Please consider contributing in some manner to this wonderful organization!

I first started volunteering with Circle Tail in 1999 because its mission fit perfectly with my interests and ideals. The organization helps animals and people in a unique way that benefits everyone - from the dogs whose lives are saved, to the assistance dog recipients, and the inmate trainers who learn love, respect, and responsibility for another living being. I have seen the way these dogs change their partners' lives, giving them independence they otherwise wouldn't have.

meeting/ speaking with recipients of service and hearing dogs and seeing the rewards of the hard work by all involved. I also adopted a dog who didn't have what it takes to be a service dog, so now provides me with unparalleled love and devotion!

I've been volunteering with Circle Tail for about eight years, in a variety of capacities (listed above). Not only do we provide highly-trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities, but we also have an amazing adoption program and make great placements in the community through that. Circle Tail
