Review from Guidestar
March 2, 2011

Circle of Care contracted me to write a grant proposal for them and never paid me for the service. I notified the Executive Director, Joan Raderman, of the amount that I charge and she agreed. I prepared the 32 page grant to the best of my ability, which was quite a challenge as the financial information and statistics I was given all contradicted each other. I delivered the completed project and informed her that all she would need to do is attach her organization's overall yearly budget and list of board members. I told her I would send her an invoice and expect payment within two weeks. Two weeks has past and no payment has arrived. I called her to ask why not, and she said she was refusing to pay me and also would not give me any contact information of a board member or their attorney. I cannot believe that an ED of a charitable business would scam a dedicated, experiences, and successful grant writer and fraudulently contract them without paying for the service. I find that this organization is inadequately run and a scam.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I volunteered with this group and the service is positive, however, quite disorganized feeling. I think it has a good mission and concept, but needs a more qualified leader.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

hire a new, honest, accountable Executive Director.
