I was drawn to volunteering for Children Sports because they use of sports to influence children and youth who live in disadvantaged areas. Sports have always been a pivotal part of my life and extremely influential in teaching me life skills such as teamwork, responsibility, and perseverance, while also giving something physically constructive to do. I cannot remember a time in my life where I did not play a sport and my team experiences have been some of the most positive in my life. I think getting children involved in their sports programs as a positive outlet can be a life changing experience.

Children Sports International is such an amazing organization since it deals with using sports and physical activity to enhance the lives of the young population. Coming from a poor community, I personally know how using these tools can really improve the lives of individuals. Learning this firsthand, I would like to use what I know to help others.

Volunteering for Children Sports has been a great experience this past year. I grew up playing sports and that competitive nature lead me to have the drive and determination that I have today in my career. Working with kids is an amazing experience. It always makes my day when I am out there coaching and helping a young kid learn something new that will inspire him to keep at it and strive to be the best that they can be.

What interested me most about this organization is the fact that I will be able to work and surround myself with people who love sports and want to teach the values one can get through sports to young underprivileged children. It combines two things I enjoy most; being around children and my passion for sports and I am looking forward to volunteering again soon.

I wanted to help kids who have a hard stressful lifestyle and show them that there is a better and healthier path than being on the streets. I volunteer for Children Sports because I want to become a good influence for them and have the opportunity to participate in events and meet new people.

My name is Deborah, and I love volunteering because I am influencing the younger generation to believe in themselves and to go for their goals. Also, teaching kids about a living a healthy lifestyle and that sports can make you go far in life inspires me to volunteer for Children Sports International.

I love working in an environment where I can be outdoors making a difference, socializing with like-minded people who want to contribute to a great cause. Volunteering with this amazing nonprofit has made a impact in my life and is a great way to teach kids the importance of conserving our earth and staying active and healthy.

I’ve always been interested in working with at-risk youth. I feel that, aside from children, the teenage population is the one most vulnerable to adverse outcomes in the community. As a volunteer coach for Children Sports I have been involved making changes in the lives of youth and becoming a positive role-model for children in my community.
