Participating in COTEF programs has been a fantastic opportunity for my daughters and me. Not only did it bring us closer to the earth, but also closer to each other. The week we spend at COTEF is always the highlight of our summer, and we keep coming back for more.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my children, who have become more confident and more interested in nature.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

continue the fantastic work they are doing.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing the growth in the children and how they beam with pride when they finally accomplish a difficult task, such as making fire with a bow drill.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very energetic, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. They all loved working with kids and knew how to engage children fully. Such a fascinating group of people with diverse backgrounds.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

buy a campground of their own and not worry about finding a new location to keep operating. They could also reach so many children and teens who would benefit from their programs but can't afford them.

Ways to make it better...

we could spend the whole summer at COTEF. My family loves it there and we can't get enough of their programs.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

financial. So many children would benefit from attending their programs if COTEF had more scholarship money to give. Also, they need to find a new, affordable location as the campground they've been using is being sold. I wish they could afford to buy it.

One thing I'd also say is that...

COTEF is amazing. You have to be there to experience the magic.

I took a teacher training with COTEF in California and came home with great energy, activities, and renewed passion for connecting myself, friends, family, and students with the Earth. At the training we sang and played and sat on the ground. Simple, profound, beautiful!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my life and energy as a environmental educator - as well as with the excitement and popularity of their teachings with kids.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

singing and playing games together, and learning more about the earth and myself in the process.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

unique, interesting/interested, engaged, energized, funny, compassionate, and soulful.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

re-invest in itself and keep doing this amazing work.

Ways to make it better...

I didn't have to travel so far sign up for their programs or volunteer with them.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the internal distance so many adults have between themselves and the earth, and how much work and energy COTEF needs to use to narrow that distance in order to teach the children (who are starving for this kind of experience).

One thing I'd also say is that...

COTEF is a fantastic organization that helps connect kids and families with each other and the Earth. The skills and lessons learned are vital for treating ourselves, our communities, and our home with compassion and respect.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

dedicated to living in harmony with the Earth and helping others do the same.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

change the world.
