PO Box 701 Auburn CA 95604 USA

Founded in 2003, Child Advocates of Placer County formed to administer the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program for the Placer County Juvenile Court. The CASA concept was developed in 1977 by a judge in Seattle, WA, who was disturbed that he was making life-impacting decisions for foster youth based on a minimal amount of information. Today there are over 50,000 CASA volunteers nation-wide. Each county has its own Superior Court, and so each county ideally also has its own CASA program. As sworn officers of the court, our CASA volunteers advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected foster youth, providing the presiding judge with recommendations for permanent placement and communicating the childs wishes.
