Mission: The organization's mission is to serve young children who have come out of abusive homes and by court order are assigned to this organization for assistance in child care and possible placement within a foster home. Grants and private donations received are used primarily to cover the costs of training volunteers, staff, and filing fees with the court for legal documents necessary to assist these children in foster home placement. Funds are also used to cover expenses incurred in the process of volunteers who help these children to be taken to court for hearings, meeting probable foster parents, arranging intermediate shelter and food provisions in a safe place.
Programs: The casa program in placer county works to prevent abused, neglected, and abandoned children from becoming lost in the juvenile dependency system, finding them safe, permanent homes as soon as possible. This is done through training and supervising casa volunteers who work with foster youth in placer county, where a majority of closed cases result in reunification of children with birth parents, adoption or guardianship.
