The newly remodeled Resource Center at 310 South Racine has a great cross section of objects representing Chicago's early rise as a major port and center of commerce because of its rivers and lakes. It needs a full scale Maritime museum to house the rest of its collection which is located in two off site warehouses not open to the public!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

in increased interest in establishing a Maritime Museum.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Change the name from Society to Museum.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Realizing the amount of local history that I didn't know.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Everyone is very dedicated to the concept of establishing a full Maritime Museum somewhere on Chicago's lake front.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Provide a virtual maritime museum on the network and be able to construct a Maritime facility.

Ways to make it better...

I could see the entire collection.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

raising sufficient funds to make the organization grow and getting enough volunteers to catalog their collections.

One thing I'd also say is that...

The city and the State should be more involved and interested in establishing a museum for its citizens.
