The staff of the CenterLink have provided our local LGBT community center with valuable assistance over the years, giving us advice & encouragement at times when we had little idea of where to turn. In my opinion our Center would not be as strong today without the help of the CenterLink.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

energy and excitement that their staff gives off, it is contagious!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

grant those funds to other Centers around the country and help all of our communities grow stronger!

As Centers around the country work to find stable fundind and recognition, it's nice to know CenterLink is there to assist them. CenterLink works daily to insure LGBT center around the county are finding funding they need as well as the recognition for the services they provide and the work they do in their local community. Community Centers are the life blood of the LGBT movement and without CenterLink, I'm sure several of those Centers would not exist to support our community today!

CenterLink is a powerful grassroots resource for LGBT and ally advocates and supporters nationwide. The organization functions as a one-stop shop to locate and contact LGBT community centers across the U.S., get quick information on news and advocacy issues, and find volunteer and job opportunities. LGBT community centers are, for many people in the country, their primary connection to the LGBT community where they live, and CenterLink strengthens that bond by creating a support network and access portal to link individuals with the resources that they require. Executive director Terry Stone is a great leader who consistently demonstrates a willingness to go above and beyond what is needed to ensure that his membership and constituents are served and the organization's mission is constantly achieved.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the field -- so many of the people I work with are also closely connected with their local community center and CenterLink and have a more comprehensive understanding of the issues their community faces.

CenterLink's work on behalf of the LGBT community nationwide has been widely recognized by LGBT leaders and progressive activists including by musician/ entertainer/activist Cyndi Lauper and her True Colors Tour. Without CenterLink, LGBT Commmunity Centers from Boston to Tampa to Morrison Colorado to Seattle Washington might not have had the opportunity to participate in and benefit from the wonderful musical tour organized by Ms. Lauper. Kudos to CenterLink and its staff's hard work on behalf of our local communities.

CenterLink has done an amazing job at connecting LGBT community centers so that we can sahre best practices, fundraising tips, human resource resolutions, board development tips and more. The Executive Director Summit is the one conference that takes place each year that I would never miss. Being able to network with other ED's is invaulable to my professional development and personal sanity.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

meeting professionals in my field.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

exceptional.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Hire me, too. And it could provide more technical support to fledgling community centers in order for them to build capacity. It could provide more scholarships to executive directors so they could attend the Summit.

Ways to make it better...

more community center leaders could afford to attend the Summit.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

it is still young and not as many people know about the services and programs available as some of the other national organizations.

One thing I'd also say is that...

the CenterLink executive director, Terry Stone, is one of the most talented and commited leaders in the LGBT community. CenterLink is very lucky to have him.

CenterLink provides tools, training and resources for LGBT Community Centers nationwide. The Executive Summit held each year brings topical issues and practical training to the executives of centers across the country. The organization leverages relationships with national organizations to provide discounted rates for everything from memberships in national resource groups, to training opportunities for a local board of directors. The staff is very responsive and understands their value in coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance for those of us out in the filed doing the day-to-work of LGBT community centers.

When I first signed on as an Executive Director of our Center, having a national group to contact for information, resources and support was absolutely crucial to the success of our Center and my role as director. The networking with other Centers and CenterLink has been invaluable to me and our organization. I applaud the great job they do and there leadership in the community center movement for social justice.

The LGBT community center "movement" is a sometimes forgotten community. CenterLink is our main, national organization that provides support and advice to the 100+ local LGBT organizations scattered all over the country. Sometimes we have paid staff, somtimes we are just volunteers raising enough money to pay the phone bill. We all provide resources and services to LGBT people . Thanks CenterLink

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the quick way they always respond to requests for advice and help.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

other leaders of LGBT organizations who are willing to share their best practices.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

help thousands of LGBT homeless youth and forgotten LGBT seniors. We have communitis within our communities who have been long forgotten and thrown on the streets.

Ways to make it better...

I had the time to access more of their work.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the fact that so many LGBT people do not support their community centers. They don't think they "need them." The centers have the staff and boards that are fighting for our rights. Yes, we all need community centers. At least right now.

One thing I'd also say is that...

this work is vital.
