The Center for Biological Diversity Inc work very hard to preserve wildlife and the environment. I have contributed to them many times in the past and will continue to do so. I totally believe in their efforts.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

win a lot more court cases and protect more habitat.

I'm with an Alaska-based conservation group here in Alaska, so I am familiar with how difficult success can be in this arena. That the CBD has a 93% success rate is astounding to me (and a source of considerable envy, too). I rarely join other groups as I have to watch my pennies and tend to send them mainly to my organization. But I made an exception when it came to the CBD. They are worth every penny I send and then some!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Contacting their Anchorage office in regards to issues my group is involved with.

Very informed and helpful in answering my questions.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Sue the pants off the Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife, a group seeking to kill as many Alaskan wolves as possible with the state's help.

I so believe in this organization, that they're in my will. I'm so thankful that someone will take on these tough issues. If it weren't for people this dedicated, our beautiful blue green ball would look like the face of the moon.

This group is a science based no nonsense organization dedicated to strong conservation measures. I'm drawn to their no frills membership, knowing that almost all my donation goes to their agenda. I'm especially pleased with their efforts to curb human over population and its impact.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

their results in court. And, their very comprehensive newsletter.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

spend more time in court.

We've found the Center for Biological Diversity to be an effective advocate for the protection and preservation of wildlife and their habitats. In addition, this organization is able to move quickly and effectively when new threats to wildlife are discovered. While the group is known for its legal battles, it does not limit its advocacy to court, but employs diverse and sundry approaches to finding solutions to problems. We're proud to be supporters of the Center for Biological Diversity.

CBD is one of the only (if not the only) group that really stands up for what needs to be done for the environment, without making compromises that hurt species and lands.

I have a science background, and I follow environmental research. CBC is exceptional in really doing the background work, using a science-based approach, and following through. They have the most dedicated hard-working staff that one could imagine: all people who work long hours for low salaries because they care so much about what they do. I don't know of any charitable organization in which one's contribution would be better invested, in terms of results per dollar. This organization cares about the long term future of the planet, and is using science and the law to improve things as best they can; I am grateful for their dedication.

Only major group pressing true science-based advocacy on global warming in Washington, D.C. Brings strategic and effective lawsuits on climate change, endangered species, public lands and sprawl. Media outreach is informative, creative and effective. Reports issued are top notch. This group can do it all. Hopefully their "people's petition" on 350 and global warming will turn the entire debate around with a Congress and administration corrupted by status quo money influence.

its humorous way of getting the job done.

cool and informed.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

reshape the way America uses, buys and considers energy. Citizens would have a softer footprint on the natural world.

Ways to make it better...

there had been more of them.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

galvanizing grassroots action from all corners of the country and world.

One thing I'd also say is that...

i've said it all.

The center for biological diversity is one of the most effective non-profit organizations around. Their work includes the sexy mainstream environmental issues (whales, polar bears, turtles etc) but also less known but equally important issues such as saving sharp park (wetlands vs golf course), the bay area delta and tejon ranch (Calif. condor range). I am very impressed with the work they do and am proud to support them. I love reading their on line newsletter (I feel so informed) and just wish I could give more money to support their work.
