I am sort of disappointed because I have yet to receive any confirmation that the phones I have sent over the past two years were received. I have also submitted names on the website and don't know if any of the soldiers received phone cards. Our AMerican Legion Riders group also does care packages and I would love to know how to get cards back from this organization to put in our packages-just not sure who to contact-haven't had a lot of luck with the email contact-we have been doing this for over two years now-any ideas on how to have a better experience?

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

it is amazing how many people have cell phones laying around that can be recycled

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Send out a confimation of receipt-I know this would take extra money and manpower though.....

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

People are so happy when they give me a phone-it makes them feel like they are doing something worthwhile

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

no experienc

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

use it to make sure that all our troops have the ability to call home

Ways to make it better...

I received confirmation from the phones I sent-I do NOT use prepaid labes-I pay the costs to ship myself and my return address is on every box sent.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Trying to operate cheaply

One thing I'd also say is that...

It's a wonderful program and according to the other comments I've seen, working great-maybe I need to put forth more effort...

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my husband received calling cards that he was able to distribute to his soldiers.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

is thier creativity on creating funding.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

I have not met any.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

make sure all deployed soldiers could make sure they had access to family.

Ways to make it better...

cant think of anything

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding

The Hugs Project has had a working relationship with Cell Phones for Soldiers for several years now. Our nationwide members recycle phones with them and they in turn provide phone cards for the troops we send care packages. This year we sent out almost 4,000 Christmas care packages and more than 3,000 boxes throughout the rest of the year. Each Christmas box had a phone card so that the young service member could call home and wish someone he/she loves a Merry Christmas. This was wonderful for our troops and only possible because of the caring of the CPFS organization. Our troops receive a LOT of things in the boxes we send out but I think none is as well received as the chance to call someone back home and for that we (and they) say thank you to Cell Phones for Soldiers from the bottom of our hearts. I just wish it was possible to give more than 5 stars because they've earned it.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

donated phone cards to benefit troops in harm's way.

I can't say enough good things about Cell Phones for Soldiers. I am part of another non profit organization that supplies soldiers with care packages monthly. We have started collecting old phones, sending them in and in return CPFS gives us the calling cards that we can send in the care packages. Our soldiers are so appreciative of the calling cards.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

They have generoosly shared the calling cards with the non profit organization I participate in that sends care packages monthly to soldiers in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Middle East.

My daughter before she left for overseas duty turned in our old cell phones. In turn she sent us a email that she had received 9-300 minute calling cards which she shared with her co-workers. What a nice gift for those serving our country. Thanks for providing a much needed service to our troops.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing first hand the results of the Cell Phones for Soldiers Program works.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Be more proactive by finding ways to bring this program to the attention of more people. More ads on TV, Radio or in newspapers.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Instead of throwing the phone away I was able to recycle it.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

provide those in need with the ability to contact love ones.

Ways to make it better...

How do you make something better when it exceeds expectations. Many times you donate but never hear who benefits from your donation.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

People tend to be lazy. It's alway easy to take the easy way out. Throw it in a trash can to fill up a landfill. People need to know more about the program and who it serves/

One thing I'd also say is that...

They are meeting a need.

I would have appreciated being notified when my soldier received his phone card(s). You could raise additional funds by embedding a hyperlink into the "reply signature" from the card, or phone, asking for donations, I.E. "sent from my blackberry" or "sent from my verizon phone".

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Embed a "text message link" to solicit donations from users, and receivers, asking them to "Pay It Forward". Contact lisa@sendsavings.com for a text message fundraising idea for non-profits.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Reach out to all of our armed forces members across the world with support.

Ways to make it better...

I had received notification of my soldiers receipt of the phone card(s), even if he didn't use them to call me.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

One thing I'd also say is that...

This is a great concept.

I requested phone cards for my husband, who is stationed in Afghanistan. He received the cards pretty quickly - less than 60 days from the date they were requested. He was very grateful, and I am too, because it means our son and I get to talk to him more often!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

being able to talk with my husband, who is deployed to Afghanistan, and being able to allow him to talk to our 5-year-old son!

Our American Legion Post Auxiliary recently became a drop off for used cell phones. I have so far sent in two shipments for processing. In addition, I collect addresses for our local soldiers who are deployed or stationed away from their families so that we can send care packages to them. I asked if we could get a couple dozen phone cards to include in this year's Christmas packages... we received 100 cards and thanks to your generosity, our soldiers were able to share phone cards with others stationed and/or deployed with them:-) Thank you!! Vaune/Munising, MI

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

our care package mailing... I collect addresses from our local families who have soldiers deployed. These packages not only help brighten a soldier's day, but also their families here who know that others are caring about their loved ones, too!!

I am an American soldier and wanted to thank "Cell phones for soldiers INC" for sending me and my battle buddy phone cards to be able to call our families and hear the voices of our kids and loved ones. Thanks for support and care!

that soldiers were able to talk to their kids and loved ones.
