Volunteering is good for the soul... we often benefit as much or more than the clients. Elijah's Place creates space for people to come together and share with others who feel their same hurt. Hospitality Center is doing God's work: feeding the hungry.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

First hand witnessed healing power of people sharing and doing God's work.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

At Hospitality Center, many clients are chronic... how can we bring in other services to help some break free? Find jobs?

Would you volunteer for this group again?

Definitely

For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?

A lot

Did the organization use your time wisely?

Quite well

Would you recommend this group to a friend?

Definitely

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

Yes. Volunteer satisfaction.

I served as a Board member for this organization and have also been a volunteer. The outreach is incredible in our community. Further, Catholic Charities initiated a prgram called Elijah's Place which helps children deal with grief. An incredible gift to the community.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

being a volunteer and seeing their outreach.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I have no changes to suggest.

My dealings with Catholic Charities have been very positive. The employees are professional and they have been very frugal stretching contributions in unique ways.

Focus on replacing fading programs; remain committed to being frugal with contributions.

Catholic Charities is a wonderful organization. The respectful friendly way the clients are treated is remarkable. They provide the many services needed in the community for the less fortunate. The client will always find a helping hand and a dedicated worker to get them through the tough times. The organization is tireless in making sure the needy are taken care of.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the many many clients that return everyday for a friendly and caring place to serve them a meal and provide clothing.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing the happy faces receiving help.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

so caring and respectful.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

expand even more than they do now.

I have been a volunteer at the Hospitality Center for the past 3 years. I have had the pleasure of meeting wonderful volunteers, along with the director, Christina. The Center serves a delicious, hot meal 365 days a year and I have seen first-hand how the clients are treated with dignity and respect.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

working side-by-side with other wonderful volunteers and seeing the guests eat a hot meal.

I have enjoyed volunteering at the Hospitality Center for 22 years, 6 days per week. I have always enjoyed helping people and I also have fun interacting with the volunteers and have many friends doing so. The best part of volunteering at the Center is knowing that the clients will have at least one hot meal a day and I know they are not hungry for a while. The Center also gives out clothes once a week and I enjoy watching the clients faces when they receive a bag of clothes. I look forward to helping out and being a part of a mission that strongly believes in what they are doing. The slogan for Catholic Charities is Providing Help and Creating Hope and they are doing just that. Keep up the good work of feeding the hungry.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

helping register guests 6 days per week and seeing the guests come and go.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Helping people and making sure they are not hungry.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Very warm and welcoming. We are like one big family. I have met many volunteers in the past 22 years and have become good friends with a lot of volunteers. I would consider the Director a very close friend of mine.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Get new tables and chairs and possibly expand to give the guests more room. The Center could then add on a big room to store the clothes instead of having them in the corner of the dining room.

I have been blessed to have been a volunteer cook at the Catholic charities Hospitality Center for the past 11 years. I keep going back because I feel the love that is brought by other volunteers that come to help the homeless and those less fortunate. Even though those that walk through the door may be addicted to drugs, prostitutes or just on a streak of bad luck, they come to relax in an environment that gives them hope.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I've seen people's lives change because of the help they have received from the Hospitality Center. Many of those that were served by the center have now become servers by volunteering themselves to give back in some way.

I have been a client of the Hospitality Center for 20+ years and have always been treated with dignity and respect by the director and numerous volunteers. The food is good too. I now volunteer my time at the Center to give back to the wonderful people who helped me in my time of need.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

times of need for food and shelter. The director allows guests to come inside when the weather is bad.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Getting to know some of the guests and the volunteers are always welcoming and greet the guests with a warm smile. It's the one place that makes me feel special.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Friendly and welcoming.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Possibly be bigger and maybe even become a shelter. They could use more freezers and storage space.

As the Director of the Hospitality Center for the past 5 years; I have grown spiritually and emotionally. I have such respect for the Center whose mission is to feed the hungry with diginity and respect. The most important thing I have gained is a second family, the guest's who are here daily and the hand full of volunteers who have dedicated thier free time for the past 22 years makes this a very rewarding place to be.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Working with the volunteers who 10 persent have been volunteering since the Center opened in 1987. I have learned that people still give from the heart unconditionally. The volunteers are the heart and soul of the Hospitality Center.
