By far, some of the best experiences of my life have been the times I'm wearing a CAST shirt. Amazing foundation bringing so much to so many.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
far too many ways to count. The smiles of the guests are the cumulative results all on their own. Talk to one of these kids, numbers are irrelevant, CAST changes people, makes them aware of who they CAN be, not who they can't.

I'd like to see CAST in all 50 states sooner than later.
This is about grown men taking handicapped children out in their boats and teaching them how to fish. The questions is. Who's getting the most out of this experience? The child or that OL Fisherman! You have to attend a CAST event! It could change your life. It did mine. I married one of those "OL Fisherman"!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Making a special day for a kid. When all the kids are out on the lake, I love to look over and see the wheelchairs and walkers coralled over by the tents.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Loving and compassionate people.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Give every handicapped Child in the world a chance to Catch A Special Trill. This experience gives children a felling of freedom and it levels the playing field... Anyone can fish......
Ways to make it better...
Couldn't have been better. The weather always cooperates, even in Oregon!
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Finicial. This is the first year we (Forest Grove OR) are on our own. The Buruea of Reclamation dropped us. They provided funding and man power.
One thing I'd also say is that...
When children come back every year, and then they aren't there this year...... It breaks my heart.

My 5 yr old autistic son had a great day with a "fishing mentor". He went on the boat with his private volunteer and enjoyed a day at sea. He was allowed to bring his family members and was introduced to fishing and boating for the first time. The volunteer was very patient and helpful. After they had a bbq and everyone got awards. It was great!

"C.A.S.T for Kids" is an outstanding non-profit program for disable kids. This program allows disabled kids the opportunity to go fishing with volunteers who are good fisheren and great compassionate teachers. This program made a huge impact on my daughter Esther who has Downs Syndrome. She fished, pulled up crab pots, saw a lazy sea lion and was able to Captain the boat (drive it). My daughter has not stopped talking about our host "Dave" who was wonderful, gental and very good with Esther. Every volunteer I met was sooooo thankful to be a part of this program. C.A.S.T for Kids is my choice for the outstanding non-profit organization. Thank you, Jerry Listle

C.A.S.T for Kids is a great program. While fundraising I have met handfuls of not only disabled kids but also volunteers that came up to me just to tell me how this program is and how much it has fulfilled their lives. I am very proud to continue to volunteer and help such a wonderful group of people comitting themselves to providing joy in the lives of disabled children. I would highly recommend this program to receive an award as an outstanding non-profit organization.
