Caring For The World Films completed and released a documentary about Himalayan HealthCare. We are a non profit working in Nepal since 1992. I was interviewed in the US as past president. The experience was easy and very professional. The team lead by Debra Lang spent an extraordinary amount of time creating a film that very accurately portrays the work of HHC. The story is really told through the eyes of the Nepali people. We of HHC and not be more grateful. We now have a wonderful documentary which can be used to further our work. We are extremely fortunate to have been discovered and documented by Caring For The World Films.

I worked with Debi Lang both as a board member of Himalayan Healthcare and a volunteer on both medical treks that she filmed. I remember being extremely impressed with Debi and her professional approach to her work. She was 'on duty' all the time and was constantly researching, planning, filming and thinking about every aspect of the organization. Debi took nothing at face value and really explored each aspect of HHC in depth and from every possible angle. She was interested in all parties and took time and energy to see the organization from everyone's point of view - this included the HHC staff, the board, the international volunteers, the villagers, the patients, the healthcare workers, the teachers, and the craft women. She was very sensitive to the culture and to all individuals and made sure her approach was respectful and welcome.

I felt that in the end her evaluation and assessment of HHC was extremely thorough and honest. This was not just making a film for the sake of making a film. We were given a stunning documentary that captured the essence of HHC and has given us a valuable marketing tool that other NGOs can look at, compare and learn from.

I went on a medical trek with the charity Himalayan Healthcare and we were extremely priveleged that Caring For The World Films had chosen Himalayan Healthcare as their featured charity and they were making a documentary about the charity. So far I have only seen the trailer but the filming is just terrific. However more importantly Caring For The World Films is helping these charities to gain much needed publicity, to help them raise funds to help others. Caring For The World Films is run by Debi Lang who is very passionate about helping others and overall I think the charity does excellent work

I feel very fortunate to have twice witnessed CFTWF in action while Debi was filming for Cape CAREs in San Marcos, Honduras.

I was volunteering on the Cape CAREs team as a dental hygienist, and learned that Debi would be filming during my first trip. I wondered how having someone following the team with a camera would affect the dynamic, but I was pleasantly surprised that the 'filmaker' was actually a working part of our team. While extremely talented, professional and unobtrusive behind the camera, Debi also functioned as an integral part of the dental team as an assistant. During my second trip with her, I often forgot that it wasn't her primary role!

CFTWF goes further than pointing a camera at a group of people trying to make a difference...Debi's willingness to partake in the hands-on experience of the organizations that she films lends a special depth to her productions.

CFTWF has increased the visibility of Cape CAREs through the documentary films Debi has produced. Sharing the films and links to CFTWF's website has led to other professionals expressing interest in volunteering and/or contributing to Cape CAREs.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I wouldn't change anything about CFTWF itself...I would like to see increased access to funding for nonprofit filmmakers so that more humanitarian groups can be featured!

I have goosebumps as I sit and think of how I might convey my deep appreciation and gratitude for Debi Lang's gift to our organization, Cape Cares. Debi's efforts to portray our medical/dental missions in two of our sites in Honduras has been extraordinary, and her films reflect not only her passion and hard work.. but more importantly, the compelling story of the people we serve and the mission of Cape Cares.
Debi worked many, many hours filming in a way that was always respectful and unobtrusive. As a volunteer (part of the deal, she insists on being part of the effort), Debi became an extraordinarily competent dental assistant. We came to value her contribution to our work as a team member, as well as for her talent behind the lens. In Debi, we have all found a true and trustworthy friend. So have the people in Honduras.

I have been affiliated with Cape Cares for nineteen years, traveling on missions for over a dozen (all four of my children have worked on teams, as well as my husband). Since beginning our work in each site, tremendous changes have occurred in the population we serve. From beginning with mostly extractions to now offering prophylactic dental work and education/prevention. The smiles are amazing! And while most of our medical work is fairly simple, we often get to help with a truly dramatic case.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

We need more funding, most of our expenses are covered by the volunteers. Medication is enormously expensive, and it is very difficult to stretch what little money we have. Deb's films have been incredibly helpful in bringing word out to our communities to increase donations and awareness. We are going to a new site (our 4th) this Spring, and we will be seeing 800 children who have never seen a dentist!

Last year I volunteered with Cape Cares in Honduras and was able to work with Debi and CFTWF. The attention to detail as well as the compassion Debi shows for the people and cause she is filming was inspiring. If it weren’t for these efforts and the amazing results it would be more challenging for Cape Cares to express the mission of their work.

CFTWF helped us get the word out to many people who knew about our organization, but never really knew what we do or why. The concise, 12 minute video tells our story in a nutshell so that people can see how our organization, Teachers for a Better Belize, has grown and developed over the years. Debi is passionate about accuracy and honesty, and her attention to detail is amazing.

When the video from CFTWF was complete we had a video release fundraiser. It was a huge success and helped us a lot in our fundraising.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

encourage them to keep up the great work!

I've worked for 28 years in the non-profit world, 25 of those in Honduras where I met Debi and CFTWF. I was deeply impressed by the high standard and quality of her film work. She brings important social justice issues in a very sensitive way to the forefront. What I admired most was how she inspired, encouraged and guided volunteer youth to develop their artistic talent in the area of filming and photography to document poverty issues in Honduras.

Debi is a true professional. Her work speaks for itself. As a member of the board of directors of Cape Cares, we frequently use her films in our presentations to school children and to civic groups
