Being part of the Cancer Schmancer Foundation has been a great experience. The foundation is a powerful organization that brings awareness to other women about early signs of cancer. I was empowered by Fran to spread the word to other women. I had a great time at the Revlon Run/Walk in NYC with the Cancer Schmancer Team. All of the members were very friendly!

The Cancer Schmancer Movement is the best foundation I've found. It encourages women to take control of their body and listen to what it's telling them. And alot of foundations are created by people that haven't had cancer and don't understand what the people they're trying to help are going through and feeling. Cancer Schmancer isn't. Fran Drescher is the perfect leader for Cancer Schmancer. She knows what we are going through and she knows exactly what to do to help us,(because she is a Uterian Cancer survivor herself)And she's a woman who isn't ready to give up.... And as a girl that has a family with a HUGE history of cancer, knowing just that is a such relief. The CSM, and Fran, are SO wonderful. They not only teach women how to detect early warning signs of cancer, but they support early dection as well. When Fran talks about Cancer Schmancer, you not only WANT to listen, but you learn SO much that can be SO helpful. What Fran tought about early detection, helped my mom figure out that she had systs on her overies. And only being 14, and knowing what to look for for early warning signs for cancer, feels like standing on the top of the world. There is no reason or excuse that The Cancer Schmancer Movement shouldn't be the non-profit foundation to have the 2009 Cancer Fighters award.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Many women have had the benifit of being able to be diagnosed with cancer in the early stages instead of the late stages.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Do exactly ehat Fran Drescher is doing.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The fun in learning about it and what it does. Fran Drescher makes it easy to understand and she makes you want to learn more.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Do even more that it's doing now.(if that's possible) They could do more research, and reach out to more women around the country and world.

Ways to make it better...

I don't think there is a way to make Cancer Schmancer better.

This is a great organization. It advocates taking control of your body. Which is so important because when cancer hits us or a family member the first thing you feel is out of control. Fran Drescher is a great leader and means everything she says. She is willing to personally encourage people no matter who they are. When my husband had a cancer scare (luckly just a scare) 2 years after i did she offered personal words of encourgement through email that meant so much to us. Stage one is the Cure and learning and to read our own bodies signs and signals is so important. Cancer Schmancer encourages in an amazing and positive way!!!!My husband and I walked with Fran as part of the Cancer Schmancer Team in NYC. It was a rough walk for me I am 2 years cancer free and am suffering from a lot of damage from the chemo. Mostly nerve damage in my legs and as a result I am constantly on pain killers. However being part of this team for the Revlon Walk meant so much to my husband and I. It is uplifting to be part of something bigger than yourself and to come in contact with amazing people. I have an 11 year old daughter and it is for her and all the other young people that I work through my pain and do whatever I can. I love this organization because I want my daughter to remember my illness in a positive way and to realize that strength and greatness can come out of rotten situaions! I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

that more people are getting educated and encouraged to trust their own instincts. Just because a person has MD after there name doesnt mean they are necessarily right for you. If you need to get a number of opinions.

If this organization had 10 million bucks it could raise awareness to such an amazing level that Stage 1 would be the cure for all that are sticken with this disease. Are men need to be aware too!

Ways to make it better...

I had the strength and time to do more.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Lack of funds. There are so many charities that do great things and in this economy people probably cut out charitible contributions first.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Thank you. Just knowing that people care and understand what I and others are going through is incredible!

Cancer Schmancer is a foundation committed to helping find a cure for cancer and helping those who are currently suffering from cancer. Fran Drescher, the President and Visionary of the foundation, is a hero in her own rights and a true inspiration for people battling cancer.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

pulling together to fight cancer! As a volunteer in the Revlon Run/Walk on the Cancer Schmancer team, I felt the energy behind their cause!

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

do exactly what they're doing now! However, I would create smaller Cancer Schmancer clubs on school campuses across the nation to get everyone fired up about fighting cancer. I'd also start a social media movement to get the conversation started.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the energy that everyone brings to the table. Everyone is inspired to make a difference. This is something so rare in life.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

kind, interesting and dedicated. I even had the chance to walk in the Revlon Run/Walk with Fran Drescher herself! Everyone is down-to-earth and eager to help.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

put in the time and effort to research for cures for multiple cancers. They are already do so much. 10 million bucks would go a long way.

Ways to make it better...

social media was more integrated into the mix. While they are great with their Facebook page, they should be more interactive with the community. I believe they have a Twitter account, but I haven't seen any updates recently.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

time and money. They are doing a lot to search for a cure for cancer, but of course time and money get in the way for every organization of its kind.

One thing I'd also say is that...

everyone at Cancer Schmancer is smart, dedicated and down-to-earth. They truly deserve the 2009 Cancer Fighters Award for being outstanding in their fundraising and amazing with their high spirits!

Cancer Schmancer is a great organization that informs millions about the whispers of cancer. The foundation provides information, support, and so much more for women in all circumstances. The Tea Party dvd is very informative. I think the Cancer Schmancer squads on college campuses will spread the word to a younger generation.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I have enjoyed working with the friendly staff and really learning about the warning signs of cancer. I have been able to share this information with my friends and family.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

just really nice and helpful.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

spread cancer awareness throughout America and other countries. Since there is no cure for cancer, early detection is the cure so the money would lead to awareness and lives daved.

Ways to make it better...

I think it really is great and can't think of any particular issue.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

launching the cancer schmancer squads to the colleges. I think it will happen, but it will take a lot of work and time.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I am very proud to be a part of this organization.

I am a donor and volunteer (hence, a believer) of the Cancer Schmancer movement! Their outreach targets young and old, men and woman, gay and straight. Their message is an untapped resource vital to saving the lives of thousands!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Witnessing the intellectual growth of everyone fortunate enough to be a part of a cancer schmancer event. Every person leaves feeling more educated (and confident) about themselves and their bodies.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Dedicated, compassionate and sincere in the cause.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

have the ability to reach the millions of people who deserve to know their medical rights and who deserve to take control of their own health and future.

I love what this foundation has done for everyone with or with cancer. It has inspired me to do better for the world. My grandmother was told 8 years ago she had cancer and she is now a proud serviver. Also my aunt had cancer and unfortunately didn't make it. It is in my genes so I have to say I will be recieving cancer soon. I hope that people keep it up and find a cure because someday I will need that cure. I am glad to know fran has made it thought this because with out her I would be scared. I am doing this because I care I don't want the gifts I just want to make this change.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have seen this organization from Fran drescher. She was interviewed by people and she said about it so I had to see it for myself.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would try so hard to get everyone to fight for this. The war now is not something worth fighting for. Cancer is.

More feedback...

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

It could find a cure. And make so much more than it started with.

Ways to make it better...

If I had cancer right now.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

The people that have had cancer and died because there wasn't a cure. I wanna find a cure because if there was one my aunt would still be here.
