The mission of the Building New Hope organization is to provide support and partnership to communities in development in Central America, while maintaining our special relationship with the community of Nueva Esperanza, El Salvador. Projects address medical, educational, economic and nutritional needs of Central Americans.


--Quinta Los Chavalos -- a supplemental school for children of a poor barrio in Granada, Nicaragua (and residence for those with no homes). Its music program has led to performances throughout Granada, Nicaragua. --Escuelito Yo Puedo ("I Can" School) A drop-in Learning Center for children who must work to support their families and so cannot attend school. Nutritional support also provided. --Cafe Chavalos - A culinary training school for at-risk youth, and accompanying cafe. --Nutrition program for orphans. --Program to encourage reading in the schools, by providing quality children's literature in Spanish to schools along with assistance in their use. "Puedo Leer" program. --Support for coffee farmers of Nicaragua. --Reconstruction assistance after Hurricane Rita in El Salvador. --Small, as-needed work assisting with medical care, water supplies, sewing cooperative, community organizing in El Salvador aimed at obtaining government attention to needed infrastructure to avoid catastrophe when hurricanes strike.
