BT Buddies
In August, 2004 I was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme and was told that I had six months to live. Luckily, I was able to survive. Natalya contacted me and asked me to share my story with a new website that she was creating. Through BT Buddies, I have been able to share my experience with others. I want all GBM patients to know that they have hope. Natalya has offered support for me and has let me contribute to to her website by involving me with projects like her book, mask project and other various articles on the website. I'm convinced that BT Buddies will impact the lives of very many people in the brain tumor community. Not only in the UK, but all around the world. It has definitely made an impact for me!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Being involved in the website when I have the time to invest, as well as learning about BT treatments and and challenges in the UK.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Raise the same type of brain tumor awareness in the UK as there is breast cancer awareneess in the USA.

My Dad was 1st diagnosed with a brain tumour on 21st april 2009 and was classed as terminal. I came to BTBuddies for support and to generally get as much information as I could. My Dad Dennis unfortunately only lasted 9 months. The soupport, guidance, commitment and advice I received from the site and Its founder Natalya has literally been a God send. I dont think I wouldve coped without it. BTBuddies Is not only packed with Info and practical help Its become an extended family for me. Even though my Dad lost his battle on January 19th 2010 I still use BTBuddies for emotional support and to offer my knowledge to others. Natalya cannot do enough for every member. Im so very grateful. x

Invaluable! There Is nothing Natalya couldnt and wouldnt try to help you with. Many times I went to her with questions and she would just say 'leave It with me'. She Is professional and friendly all rolled into one.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Maybe spread the word a bit more and make people more brain cancer aware.
Ways to make it better...
In my opinion BTBuddies cannot be improved. It is fantastic.

I recently lost the most important person in the world to me to brain cancer. The Buddies have been a very important part of my support system. They know how I am feeling....they get it. It is the key sometimes to just getting through my day knowing I can talk to someone who gets it. I don't interact with them a lot, but I know for sure, they are there for me. I am very grateful for the buddies.

My first knowledge of BT Buddies came, when my 29 yr old son was diagnosed with a brain stem GBM. My son first found the website as we were desperate to find out more info. We Live in Ireland and there was nothing specific on Brain Tumours, so BT Buddies was our first port of call. i have to say, I have found the information and links invaluable and the Forum is nice because it is smaller than most so you feel more of a connection with people using it. Natalya who is one of the co-founders is a amazing person, she really does give the personal touch and any worries you have about anything treatment, side effects, etc if she does not know the answer she goes and finds it. Recently she asked if there was a way to improve the site and i said it would be nice to have links to other countries like ireland who use the site but the useful info like welfare rights, hosp etc are not the same. by the end of the day she had all the information and the page just about set up. If you have to be going through this dreadful disease BT Buddies helps you feel not so alone and you have support and people who care how you feel and can offer the best advice and support. my only suggestions is some of the Forum links are bit hard to navigate ( but not sure how to make it easier) but only small matter, on the whole can not praise the site enough.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The personal contact, you feel (within a short time) that you know Natalya and the rest of the gang, you know they personally care for each and every one using the website.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
I have only spoken to them, not met them yet, but could not be more helpful and if they do not know the answer they are pretty quick finding out for you.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
spend most of it on research into brain tumors, and promote awareness around the subject, there so little done in the way of research into this life threatening illness
