Bright Futures Farm rescues horses that are being mistreated as well as thoroughbreds that have passed their prime as racehorses and, although in good health, are about to be slaughtered since they no longer produce profits for owners. At Bright Futures Farm, the rescued horses are given a new life - food, shelter in a clean stall, love from volunteers who ride them, curry them, and treat them with respect. They are provided with veterinary care and farrier care. I can't think of a more worthy nonprofit organization than Bright Futures Farm. To see healthy, happy horses that would otherwise have suffered a miserable life or a needless death is heartwarming.

This past year my fiancee boarded and cared for 4 of Bright Future's horses. Never being a horse person before, this was a whirlwind experience for me. The horses my fiancee cared for were healthy and well-maintained and I've grown into a horse lover over the last couple months because of the time I have spent with her rescued animals. This feeling was doubled once we visited the Bright Futures barn, where I met the more high maintenance older animals Bev and her non-profit care for. For someone to devote their life to rescuing those animals otherwise destined for slaughter is an incredible thing. Although my fiancee and I are moving and had to stop boarding Bright Futures' horses, I am looking forward to driving in 2-3 hours from Cleveland on weekends to volunteer at the barn. This is an incredible place.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bev and her barn full of loving horse this past weekend. I must say it was one of the cleanest barns, with some of the most amazing rehabbed horses I have ever seen. What Bev and the other helpers at her farm do to turn these animals around is amazing. It is clear as day that her heart and soul are with these horses and she goes above any beyond what most would. Bev would go without so that her animals could have. It's the people like her and rescues like hers that make this world a better place, for humans and animals. The horses she helps are blesses, and blessed are we for her to touch our lives. They deserve the donations/any help they can get. When you pull up.. you see that all money/efforts are for the animals..not like a lot of rescues now days. She is making a difference & I hope that people will continue to help fund her so she can keep on saving lives. Horses are helpless. I've been to the auctions.. and left crying. It is awful. What Bright Future Farms does is commendable. I hope they get the funds they need!

Bright Futures does absolutely fabulous work. Bev truly puts her heart and soul into those horses and gives them the best life they possibly can have. A few people I know have horses that Bev has rescued, and she keeps up with them and asks how they're doing ALL the time. Any money donated to her goes directly to the horses. She lets you know exactly what your donation is used for also, which is nice to know especially when you're giving money. There is no one in this world I know who is more dedicated to saving the horses.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Some of the horses she has saved have been at farms I have ridden at. They are truly incredible and, again, she keeps tabs on them to make sure they're living the best life possible.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Find a way to help her out with more volunteers and money so she could help more horses!

I have worked with Bright Futures on several occasions in assisting horses that have found themselves in precarious positions. They are always willing to step up and assist in whatever way they can, keeping the best interest of the horse in mind, always.

They are totally transparent,
forthright, and honest, and an asset to the community they serve, as well as the animals that they help.

This non-profit organization is instrumental in the saving of many horses in need of rehoming and has rescued many wonderful that were in the kill pens of local auction houses. They have helped the equine community by providing a safe place for many horses in transition.

By seeing this group rescue many horses that have been left behind by those who could not afford to continue caring for them, as well as horses that have been rescued from abusive situations.

grant them as much funding that they could find to keep their efforts continued.

I love Bright Futures Farm, they are very good and nice to their horses, and save them from slaughter, and abuse. I give them credit for all they do, they save horses lives, and that's what is most important that every horse should get a second chance, and they try to make that come true!

Many will ever know what it is like to walk the aisles of a horse auction knowing that the scared, neglected and sick horses that you are seeing will soon be boarding their final ride to a slaughter house. Bright Futures Farm knows the heartbreak in looking these animals in the eye and doing what they can to save them from this horrific end! In these financial times, there are even more horses to save and less funds to save them with. However, Bright Futures Farm does what it can to rescue these lovely creatures and nurse them back to health or give them a comfortable home to spend their last days.

This organization helped find a home for a horse that had a very bad existance. The compassion and genuine concern for the animal as well as the people involved was amazing. Bright Futures had absolutely nothing to gain by assisting us, but they joined in, gave one hundrend percent effort and solved the problem. Thank you and God Bless your future efforts.

Bev goes above and beyond for the horses in her care. This is one of the few rescues that take in stallions that are too old to geld. Bev does what needs to be done to do right by the horses
