This organization, does the grass roots work, at the comunity level: school programs regarding hazards of tobacco use, asthma education, and environmental hazards that affect our air quality.Life depends on "breathing", so catch your breath, and experience all that is involved in keeping that 'air' healthy for you.We need to be thankful to this organization [recent change of name, but doing the same community work], for being around in California, for almost a century, and keeping up the mission of saving us from Lung diseases, from infections like TB, to emphysema, and asthma. I am proud to be on their Board, as I deal with patients with lung diseases everyday, so I am thankful that there are community resources, and networks that can help them.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

schools, have an impact.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

taht their programs are local

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

It could create more awareness of the impact of lung disease on long term quality of life.

Should this review be counted for a specific campaign?

I work with Kaiser, and volunteer in Kaiser sponsored, and Breathe California sponsored events.

Breathe California is the leading private agency supporting lung health in our local community. Responding to local needs the agency serves more than 100,000 people annually, many of whom have few other health care alternatives. I am proud to serve on the Board of this local organization where actions have a direct, immediate, effect in our community. Jerry Denny, Chair Elect Breathe California Board

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Providing direct services to people in the community at health fairs and programs such as our asthma camp for kids. School "smoking cessation" programs.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Expand our community outreach and service area. Support more lung health research and education.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Sharing a sense of purpose and commitment with a group of dedicated people.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Talented, Enthusiastic, and Dedicated

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Increase our level and area of service, expanding our programs to reach a more people. Also increase our lung health research funding.

Ways to make it better...

If our funding had been more secure!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Maintaining our financial support in these trying economic times.

One thing I'd also say is that...

We have a great group of experienced people who are dedicated to improve the lung health in our community.
