Breast Cancer Action's mission is to carry the voices of people affected by breast cancer to inspire and compel the changes necessary to end the epidemic. Through education, outreach, collaboration, community-based organizing, and public policy and media advocacy, we provide clear and accurate information about the disease, its treatments, and its probable causes; advocate for improvement in breast cancer detection, treatment, and access to quality care; and move public policy toward true breast cancer prevention by finding and eradicating the environmental causes of the disease.
Breast Cancer Action provides a bi-monthly newsletter, which is sent to over 17,000 nationwide and abroad. We also publish a Spanish-language version of our newsletter, Saber es Poder, which is distributed in the US and in several foreigh countries. We provide free breast cancer information and referrals through our toll-free number and Web site. Programs Include: -Universal Access to Health Care- We are working in collaboration with our allies in California towards legislative policy changes at the state and local levels that will assure that all women with cancer are assured quality care through a state-guaranteed health system. -Think Before You Pink-guides consumers to ask where all the money is going and empowers people to make informed decisions about how and to whom they give in the name of breast cancer. -Answers Wanted, a public education campaign, seeks to redirect the research agenda to focus on outcomes driven by public health needs, including finding answers that would allow doctors to predict the spread of breast cancer, determine whether it will become life threatening, and decide the best course of treatment for each woman.

Great organization that truly advocates for those affected by breast cancer. I love the "Think Before You Pink" campaign that shows the relationship between drug manufacturers and the focus on treatment of breast cancer instead of its elimination. The newsletters are inspiring and educational, and I know I can trust what I read.
