Breaking the Cycle has helped countless youth throughout the District of Columbia. This program has served as integral resource to many DC youth from college prep programs to college fee waivers the Breaking the Cycle team is awesome and is willing to help any youth willing to further their education.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have seen a number of students successfully complete programs through Breaking the Cycle. Students who receive the resources provided from BTC seem more prepared.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would add more staff because there are an overwhelming amount of youth who Breaking the Cycle serves in the District.

Breaking the Cycle is an amazing organization that effectively addresses the needs of DC youth. Since it is run by youth the program is able to provide the necessary resources, support, and motivation to foster DC youth both academically and socially. I have already seen so many successes through Breaking the Cycle and look forward to seeing its growth in the future.

I find that Breaking the Cycle provides a unique opportunity for students and mentors to engage in positive and motivating experiences.

Beyond basic tutoring, BTC inspires at risk youth to explore higher education and career opportunities in a supportive and caring environment.

Over the past two years, I've witnessed students within the organization excel by being the first in their families to graduate high school/college and receive jobs. Most importantly, I've seen senior members of the organization act as leaders and role models to further promote positive decision making among youth.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Witnessing youth members actively make positive decisions such as attend summer school, apply to colleges and volunteer in their communities.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Expand the organization's reach and apply successful strategies to other areas with at risk youth such as New York City.

Breaking the Cycle was founded by the most giving and caring teacher along with a group of talented students. I have personally witnessed this organization do wonders for DC youth. This is proof that it does not matter where you come from- success and opportunity awaits anyone who is willing to work hard- who is willing to care- and who wishes to work with Breaking the Cycle.

Watching the founders TRULY care about community and youth.
