To Whom It May Concern: In May of 2009 a friend had told me of Breaking Ground. As I walked into this building I did not know what to expect out of it. But as time went by I was surprised to learn all that A.P.L has to offer for learning the computer and brushing up on more other skills. I look forward to the morning devotions I learn so much every day that I come to class. I look forward to coming hear and I am eager every day to learn more. The teachers are so helpful and the staff is so joyful they make the experience of learning so much fun. I still have much to learn but with the grace of GOD I know he will lead me in the right path that is right for my life. In closing I am truly grateful for this program and I am looking forward to next year to come back to a new experience. Sincerely, Ronald G. Seat

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Teaching me some skills in computers and brushing up on my learning and job skills.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Learning and being with people.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Veary joyful and happy.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Get more room for a bigger staff and more computers to teach more people.

To Whom It May Concern: BreakingGround has been a great place for me to learn more about other peoples’ religions and it has helped me brightened my horizon about the Bible and my own Christianity. The teachers are wonderful and act like they care about what happens in my life. BreakingGround helped me because I was just sitting at home and wasn’t working my brain. Every since I ‘ve been here I learn more; about the bible and about life too. I really think it’s a positive place to be at because it keeps me out of trouble and out of jail. It’s a positive place because they try to help us get jobs and try to teach us about keeping a hob. I have learned so much in my APL classes about computers and my math skills. I have learned so much about responsibility and accountability. They taught me to be more of a gentlemen by not using profanity. It is not accepted there and I don’t want to accept it, any more, in my life. And Ms. Blair is the greatest! Mr. Connie is the greatest! Ms. Ora is so special…she is a beautiful person, full of life. Mr. Friday is the greatest! The deconstruction teacher, Mr. Nolan taught me a lot about OSHA and safety on the job I like coming to BreakingGround!

To whom it may concern, My name is Clifton Hammond and since I’ve been attending the A.P.L. classes at breaking ground, I have become egger for work; both spiritually and financially. I know that this is the place for me until I get a job. The lessons taught by Mr. Milton during devotions are giving me a new look on life and opportunity. They’re teaching me to be someone in this world. The classes at A.P.L allow me to work at my own pace. The teachers are never mad at me if I go slower than the rest of the class. They are kind and understanding toward every thing we do. I appreciate them taking the time to help us. Sincerely, Clifton Hammond

To Whom It May Concern: My experience at Breaking Ground has been very helpful I’ve learned a lot from the teachers in the program. When I first came I didn’t know anything about computers but the teachers were so patience and took there time and made sure that I knew what they were teaching me about the computer. I didn’t know how to go on line or no e-mail address stuff that looked to be very hard was simple. Thanks to Mr. Muller and Ms Blair. I’m not a wiz but I’m better then before. Another part of the program is devotion and that class is taught by Mr. Connie, he is a very bright man that has been through a lot and it’s a blessing to be around a positive person such as himself. He is a motivation to me because. He has been delivered and through his faith in the Lord you can learn from the way he takes his time to show each and every student in the class it is a better way, and by faith we have open class discussion. It’s no right or wrongs because after the reading of the word he will ask what have we gotten out of the message. Now everyone would tell what they got out of the message in a respectful way. and he will give us the revelation that the lord put on his heart to let us know what was happing in that passage to the best of his knowledge. Thanks, Breaking Ground for being patient with me because all the crazy stuff I used to has turned into positive stuff thank God for positive people. Sincerely Jeff Hodges

TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN MY EXPERIENCE AT BREAKING GROUND HAS GIVEN ME A SECOND CHANCE TO GAIN A CLOSE MIND, TO BE RENEWED AND THE OPPURTUNITY TO GROW WITH THE THINGS IN MY LIFE .THEY HAVE SHOWN ME THAT I NEED TO CHANGE AND THE PEOPLE THAT I NEED TO HAVE IN MY LIFE FOR THAT CHANGE .ALSO THE STAFF AT BREAKING GROUND ARE SUPPORTIVE OF US AND ARE WILLLING TO HELP US TO GROW WITH THE CONFIDENCE AND SUPPORT THAT WE NEED; IF WE CHALLENGE THEIR SUPPORT OF WANTING THE HELP, WE CAN GROW. BUT FOR MYSELF, THINGS ARE GOING WELL AND IF MY PEERS DO SOMETHING I THINK IS WRONG, MY CONCERN AND DUTY IS TO GIVE THEM A PULL-UP( TO HELP THEM FROM DOINGING THE WRONG THINGS). IF WE CAN HELP ONE, WE CAN TEACH ONE AND THAT’S THE LOVE AND SUPPORT THAT. WE HAVE HERE AT BREAKING GROUND. TO ME EVERYONE DOES’NT THINK THE SAME BUT THATS WHAT I HAVE TO SHARE. To Whom It May Concern: My journey with Breaking Ground has been a life changing experience. I started with Breaking Ground four years ago I learned about the program through people talking about this non-profit organization that help people get a job. I went on the idea of getting a job and moving on with my life but when I started class, they were about much more than a job It was about changing your way of living. Breaking Ground offer you a chance to become a part of a caring family they care about whatever you are going through in life and best believe if it’s a problem that you may not be able to get though alone they will be right beside you coming up with an answer to solve your problem. Breaking Ground reminds me of a church the door is always open. Sincerely, Travis Sentell Brooks

To whom it may concern: My name is Marcus and I’m currently enrolled at Breaking Grounds/Apl Teaching Factory. This is my second tenure here. And personally this has been the best experience of my life. When I was here for the summer session it was a nurturing atmosphere. I hadn’t completed anything since 1997, the year I graduated. My self-esteem shot through the roof. The Teaching Factory, is more than just a school. It grooms people for the bigger picture,” LIFE”. My life has done a complete 360. I have become a better person in morals, values and personal judgment. Every morning there is a complete since of urgency, because the students want to achieve something that’s obtainable. The daily devotion excites the mind about personal conflict and daily issues. The administrative staff is more than courteous and exceeds the normal standard when it comes to dealing with the students needs. In closing when you feel there is no hope, when you get disgusted or when you can’t get any lower; there is always a place for you, here! Cordially, Marcus A. Powell

To Whom It May Concern: Ever since I came to Breaking Ground it has been a wonderful thing. When I come to devotion it a nice experience. Mr. Connie, he is very intelligent, he tells us about God and life itself. When I come to this particular class it helps me get through day-to-day basics. I really like job readiness because it helps people who don’t know what to do on a job. Job readiness also helps you if you want to own your own business. Breaking ground is a good place for people to go if you need any type of help. I came to Breaking Ground to get more help in the areas that I’m going through. I also came to get a trade and to pick up and skill. Also at Breaking Ground you have people that actually care, the staff are really great. I also like the math and computer class. Math and computers is my favorite subject I really like the computer class because it help me to grow more and learn many skills that I didn’t know. With the math class I learn many equations and problems. Also at Breaking Ground if you have any problems or need to talk to they will listen and try to help you the best way they can. When you are here you feel like home because everybody is nice. They have taught and shown me a lot of things. I love coming to Breaking Ground it’s a beautiful experience for everybody. Yours truly, Tamara Bailey
