TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN MY EXPERIENCE AT BREAKING GROUND HAS GIVEN ME A SECOND CHANCE TO GAIN A CLOSE MIND, TO BE RENEWED AND THE OPPURTUNITY TO GROW WITH THE THINGS IN MY LIFE .THEY HAVE SHOWN ME THAT I NEED TO CHANGE AND THE PEOPLE THAT I NEED TO HAVE IN MY LIFE FOR THAT CHANGE .ALSO THE STAFF AT BREAKING GROUND ARE SUPPORTIVE OF US AND ARE WILLLING TO HELP US TO GROW WITH THE CONFIDENCE AND SUPPORT THAT WE NEED; IF WE CHALLENGE THEIR SUPPORT OF WANTING THE HELP, WE CAN GROW. BUT FOR MYSELF, THINGS ARE GOING WELL AND IF MY PEERS DO SOMETHING I THINK IS WRONG, MY CONCERN AND DUTY IS TO GIVE THEM A PULL-UP( TO HELP THEM FROM DOINGING THE WRONG THINGS). IF WE CAN HELP ONE, WE CAN TEACH ONE AND THAT’S THE LOVE AND SUPPORT THAT. WE HAVE HERE AT BREAKING GROUND. TO ME EVERYONE DOES’NT THINK THE SAME BUT THATS WHAT I HAVE TO SHARE. SINCERELY Franco cotton

To Whom It May Concern: My journey with Breaking Ground has been a life changing experience. I started with Breaking Ground four years ago I learned about the program through people talking about this non-profit organization that help people get a job. I went on the idea of getting a job and moving on with my life but when I started class, they were about much more than a job It was about changing your way of living. Breaking Ground offer you a chance to become a part of a caring family they care about whatever you are going through in life and best believe if it’s a problem that you may not be able to get though alone they will be right beside you coming up with an answer to solve your problem. Breaking Ground reminds me of a church the door is always open. Sincerely, Travis Sentell Brooks

To whom it may concern: My name is Marcus and I’m currently enrolled at Breaking Grounds/Apl Teaching Factory. This is my second tenure here. And personally this has been the best experience of my life. When I was here for the summer session it was a nurturing atmosphere. I hadn’t completed anything since 1997, the year I graduated. My self-esteem shot through the roof. The Teaching Factory, is more than just a school. It grooms people for the bigger picture,” LIFE”. My life has done a complete 360. I have become a better person in morals, values and personal judgment. Every morning there is a complete since of urgency, because the students want to achieve something that’s obtainable. The daily devotion excites the mind about personal conflict and daily issues. The administrative staff is more than courteous and exceeds the normal standard when it comes to dealing with the students needs. In closing when you feel there is no hope, when you get disgusted or when you can’t get any lower; there is always a place for you, here! Cordially, Marcus A. Powell

Breaking Ground I was referred to Breaking Ground by my reentry coach at Safer Foundation. They thought it would be to my advantage to come here. I would learn trades that would open my mind to different work settings and job option. I learn how to have patience with my classmates. The staff is always willing to help with our personal problems as well as homework or assignment. I get at lot of feedback from the structure of Breaking Ground: of how to handle things in civilized manner. Devotion is a great way to be inspired to start your morning on track and focus. What’s the best about the environment of Breaking Ground? The environment the staff and students is that they all try help each in behavior or assignments to the best of their ability; because that’s all our responsibility. In conclusion the Breaking Ground APL Teaching Factory is a place for anybody that wants a change to a better lifestyle and education. We can be a role model to someone where we all were at one point in our life. This is the transition to making any man or woman to attack their goals and long awaited life achievements. Sincerely, Edward Winters

To Whom It May Concern: Ever since I came to Breaking Ground it has been a wonderful thing. When I come to devotion it a nice experience. Mr. Connie, he is very intelligent, he tells us about God and life itself. When I come to this particular class it helps me get through day-to-day basics. I really like job readiness because it helps people who don’t know what to do on a job. Job readiness also helps you if you want to own your own business. Breaking ground is a good place for people to go if you need any type of help. I came to Breaking Ground to get more help in the areas that I’m going through. I also came to get a trade and to pick up and skill. Also at Breaking Ground you have people that actually care, the staff are really great. I also like the math and computer class. Math and computers is my favorite subject I really like the computer class because it help me to grow more and learn many skills that I didn’t know. With the math class I learn many equations and problems. Also at Breaking Ground if you have any problems or need to talk to they will listen and try to help you the best way they can. When you are here you feel like home because everybody is nice. They have taught and shown me a lot of things. I love coming to Breaking Ground it’s a beautiful experience for everybody. Yours truly, Tamara Bailey

Breaking Ground At Breaking Ground community it’s a family based program. We have devotion in the morning to start a day filled in spirit. Then we have “Tell it like it is” to ease to the stress from a day to day lives in open discussion. At Breaking Ground we have different job opportunities to help ex-offenders with job placement. The staff here is very punctual and understanding to our needs and concerns. On Fridays we are welcome to come for open study and tutoring in the area’s that are troubling in class. My experience at Breaking Ground is very motivating for my background. So that I look beyond my past and move forward in the business world or in the field. I really got to know a better understanding in percents and fractions. Also, they also have taught us patience when we get what we been looking for: we’ll know how to hold on to our job. Mr. Jordan taught us in job readiness to open minds of how a business works. So that we can get a feel of how we should value business and to keep it prosperous. In closing the Breaking Ground is a great place to relearn math and computer skills. If you just want come fellowship with us we’ll be than honored for your appreciation. You’ll never know what you have until you use it. Thanks for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Marcellus Blackwell-
