Hi my name is Jeff and I have been associated with Bread of Life Fellowship for over ten years. Recently, I have had the privilege to volunteer with some of the organizations who receive food from BOLF and feed the homeless downtown and others living in the woods. It is incredible to see the impact that the work is having on people's life. This work is about so much more than food and yet the food opens the flood gates to so much more...

Even though I am a Co -founder and board member, I am constantly amazed at the way Bread of Life Fellowship operates. They operate on a shoe string budget. At times there is not at lot of cash flow and things look bleak. But that does not stop them. In 2010, 60,314 families received food and 4,101 received Christ through Bread of Life’s monthly food programs. Over 56,290 volunteer hours were recorded and 4,894,376 pounds of food was distributed through our warehouse – of which the recipients paid nothing.

All of this is done with 1 full time warehouse manager/driver, 2 part time office personnel , and the founder.

On top of the monthly programs , there is a program that happens at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Food For Families program operates with a minimum of 600 volunteers that pack food boxes and then delivers the boxes to 900 or more local families. At an average of 4 people per family , that is 3600 people that they provide food for in one weekend --three times a year.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

When we were passing out food, and a small child came up and asked "How much money do I need to buy a pickle?" (he saw a jar of pickles we had) And my 5 year old son, tells him it is free, the childs whole face lit up. Something as simple as a pickle brightened his day. There are so many stories where people have been helped and some have turned their lives around, just because Bread of LIfe Fellowship cares enough to provide them with the basics of life. Food and someone to talk to.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I would like to see more funding for them. Also, more food sources that they can get donations from. The need is so great in this economy and there are more families that could benfit from Bread of Life Fellowship.

I have been a board member for over four years. I have seen many families served through the efforts of Bread of Life Fellowship. It is a pleasure to be a part of a wonderful ministry that provides for so many families every month.

I have seen Single Mother's cry when they are given a box of food for their hungry children. Many elderpeople are so thankful for Bread of LIfe giving them food when they have no money to spend on food.

My name is Jacqulyne Jones, I am a Board member for Bread of Life fellowship. i met Mark Anthony 7 years ago collecting bread. He is a remarkable gentleman. He is very dedicated to the service of other people. Christ comes first then other people needs. He gets up early in the am to pick up food and other donations from different donors or stores. It becomes an all day job plus run the office with 1 full time driver and 1 part time administrative person and a faith budget! His family is very supportive but his love for God and Gods people over rides everything .This is a wonderful Non-Profit organization providing food and substance for the needy community at hand with a smile. i am proud to be a part of such an honest straight forward and loving organization. May God continue to bless and keep them.

Review from Guidestar

I begin as a volunteer with Bread of Life Fellowship, Inc. over 4 years ago. I immediately saw the opportunity to obtain grants and additional funding for this worthwhile organization. I used my administrative skills to update the office with forms and letters that could be used to promote BOL in new markets. I am currently writing grants and serving in any capacity that is needed.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the number of families served increase because of the additionals funds we've received from grants and private donors.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Look for ways to share this message with those who have the deep pockets that can make the impact that is needed in Central Florida.
