Bread & Water for Africa has a long history of providing assistance to children in some of the poorest regions on the planet. From food to medicine to education, the organization supports its local partners in providing sustainable solutions to poverty. One of the core strengths of the organization is its ability to identify, qualify, and monitor local organizations to ensure that donations get used as they are supposed to be used.

When the TV reporters are gone, Bread & Water for Africa is still around.

Bread and Water for Africa does an amazing job of leveraging in country support systems to develop sustainable support structures for communities. This is especially important today, as the major Ebola virus outbreak challenges governmental support systems.

As a member of our volunteer Board, I have been constantly amazed at what B&WA can do with precious few resources. In a continent that seems ever-torn by conflict, drought, and disease, B&WA works small miracles every day, and over the long term, by providing local groups with the resources that help them help themselves. From securing and transporting donated medical equipment and supplies, to creating water reservoirs, to facilitating education for children, and teaching more productive methods of agriculture to local farmers, B&WA is quietly but inexorably effecting long-lasting change for the better in Africa.
