The boy scout foundation, longhorn council was formed to create and administer an endowment fund and to hold/own assets of property for the benefit of the heart o' texas council, boy scouts of america, dba longhorn council boy scouts of america.
The foundation administers an endowment fund for the benefit of scouting in the territory covered by the longhorn council, upon the terms and conditions and for the general purpose stated in the acts of congress approved june 15, 1916 creating the boy scouts of america, that is to say: "to promote, through organization and cooperation with other agencies, the ability of boys to do things for themselves and others, to train them in scoutcraft and to teach them patriotism, courage, self reliance and kindred virtues. Reviews for Boy Scouts Of America Trust Fund
As an Eagle Scout myself, I only later became aware that the Boy Scouts of America openly discriminate against atheists and homosexuals, and both boys and leaders - those are their "values". If those values seem appropriate to you, then by all means press on. Those were not the values I remember being taught, however. These days, there are alternatives for boys, and I recommend those alternatives unequivocally. Though I checked the box below that says "I agree to the Terms and Conditions" of this site, I find it ironic that one of those Terms/Conditions is that I may not: "use the Site to promote bigotry or discrimination against protected classes", yet this site promotes this organization which DOES do that.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
how they let their religious bigotry prevent all boys from participating in what could be a great organization.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
gladly remove from office all of the top executives and ban Troops from being sponsored by any religious organizations.
