Boy Scouts is a great way for boys and young women to learn character and values in a fun setting. By using fun activities at the level (1st-5th grades) and camping & other activities at the Boy Scout level (6th-12th grades), youth learn self-confidence and self-reliance, citizenship, and mental & physical fitness. I've sat on dozens of Eagle Boards and have been very impressed by the leadership shown by the young men who made the effort to earn the highest rank in Scouting. I wish our local council were more Internet savvy, but overall, they comprise dedicated professionals and volunteers who serve to benefit the youth in our community.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

by serving as a volunteer for the last six years.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

make MUCH MORE use of the website, especially by posting all Round Table announcements online, and add an email list.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing my son grow from a Cub Scout to a Life Scout.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

hard working and dedicated to serving youth.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

serve many more youth in our community, especially those in under-served areas.

Ways to make it better...

I had taken more training early on.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

increasing its membership to bring the values of Scouting to even more youth.

One thing I'd also say is that...

being attacked on all sides by those who disagree with its values distracts BSA from its primary mission to serve youth.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week
