Mission: We bring experience, commitment and a rigorous, balanced approach to the problems that keep lung cancer at the top of the list of killers. When it comes to eradicating lung cancer, the Bonnie J Addario Lung Cancer Foundation expects to make a difference in our lifetime. We are tireless in our efforts to further understand each new scientific breakthrough and end lung cancer. We make it a point to speak with researchers almost every day. We challenge them to make the necessary leaps to move from the lab into the patient’s hospital rooms and their bedsides. Because we believe “smokers are people too,” we don’t practice “blame” in our efforts to fight cancer. There are currently researchers working across the country to find a cure for lung cancer, and all cancers. We’re here to move those studies beyond mice to humans and we know their work gives us and our families, and thousands of people more real hope. We promise to lead the crusade for research and pour our energies into making early detection and screening accessible to all and making funding and education available to keep people healthy and alive despite lung cancer.

I feel like I fit into many categories under the "role" section for the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation. I first joined the foundation as a volunteer when a dear friend was diagnosed. BJA welcomed me and gave more support back to than I could ever give to it. The foundation empowers patients and families and I knew I wanted to be a part of it. This foundation treats every side of lung cancer and I am forever grateful for the 360 degree action they take to fight. I now sit on a young professional board of the foundation and it is the thing I am most proud of in my life. I may not be a researcher and I am not a big donor, but BJA has shown me the impact each person can to tackle something much bigger. Thank you BJA!

I have several members of my family who had been affected by Lung Cancer. I was happy to finally find a foundation that focused on Lung Cancer and not on smoking. I like how they point out that the patients matter and they get rid of the stigma. I feel like I always get personal attention and am not just a random donor. Everyone I have dealt with at this foundation has been very caring and helpful even though I have not donated a lot of money, I still feel like I really matter to them. I also like that they put the patient first.
