Blanton Peale Graduate Institute Inc
Rating: 5 stars 1 review
Issues: Mental Health, Education, Religion
Location: 3 W 29th St 5th Floor New York NY 10001 USA
Programs: More than one-quarter of the clients who receive therapy through Blanton-Peale's clinics are disabled and elderly people on Medicare or individuals and families on Medicaid. More than half of our clients are working families and individuals without medical insurance and thus require significant fee subsidies of some $250,000 each year from Blanton-Peale. Blanton-Peale counselors do not promote any particular faith; they help clients relate in greater depth to their own values and beliefs. Blanton-Peale actively seeks funds to support its scholarship programs for highly qualified multicultural students as well as working clergy enrolled in the continuing education programs. Currently, clients served by Blanton-Peale can receive counseling in some nine languages, including Spanish, Laotian, Swahili, Korean, Creole, French, and Thai. The Blanton-Peale Institute promotes mental health services that make counseling more accessible to inner city residents, which improves the outcome for many. Blanton-Peale works to provide counselors from a patient's own racial/ethnic/language background.
