Adopted a wonderful black lab from Big Dog Rescue. Later found out she was in a high kill shelter in Georgia and was set to be euthanized in 2 hrs. Big Dog transported her down here with her 4 puppies. 5-paw organization.

I've been a volunteer at the Big Dog Ranch Rescue for the last four months and it is a wonderful no-kill rescue and shelter organization that provides love and care to the dogs it rescues until can find them forever homes. They take in dogs that are on their last days at other shelters, and give them all the medical and physical care that they need, as well as love and care, no matter how long the dogs have to stay there. They have a wonderful facility with very dedicated volunteers and staff that truly love the dogs. I would strongly encourage and ask anyone that has the funds or time to donate to help them expand their work.

We adopted our puppy from BDRR in November of 2010. Throughout the entire adoption process it was very obvious how much the wonderful people at BDRR cared. During the adoption we visited the facilities and have since been back to volunteer. Ever time I am there, I am very impressed with the staff and the facilities. The facilities are well maintained and always clean. The dogs are happy, healthy and maybe even a little spoiled. It is amazing how well the dogs are cared for and how smoothly BDRR runs. Adopting our beautiful puppy has been the best decision we have ever made and I highly recommend this organization.

I discover BDRR when I was helping transport a dog named Neal to the ranch. I met Laurie and Lauren and saw how dedicated they were to what they doing. I saw the dogs running in beautifully fenced acres, 15 I believe and new they dogs were very lucky to come to the ranch! This is a great place.

I've been a volunteer with Big Dog Ranch Rescue for over a year and couldn't ask to work with a better rescue. Everyone is beyond completely devoted to helping the dogs find the best forever home. When there is word that a dog, no matter the breed or location, is on its last leg at a shelter, BDRR volunteers come together and save the furbaby in need. This rescue is genuinely concerned about the dogs and will do anything to save them and find them the best forever home!

Big Dog Ranch Rescue does an exceptional job in rescue! They rescue some of the most medically needy dogs without a second thought. The recent move of the ranch appeared as flawless from the outside looking in, never skipping a beat, still rescuing even through the stress of moving. Big Dog Ranch Rescue is always willing to help other rescues in their rescue efforts too. I applaud BDRR!!!

BDRR is an amazing organization. We take many critical, heart worm positive cases as well as hundreds of owner surrenders. We placed nearly 800 dogs last year in forever homes. Our adoption screening is second to none. We perform home visits and vet references to insure our dogs are properly placed in their forever homes. We have an unstoppable team of volunteers. BDRR works with our community to pick up local foster children to help volunteer at adoption events on weekends. Special needs children now come out and volunteer by bathing puppies and walking dogs.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I would buy all the instruments needed to get the surgical room up so we could have a vet on staff. We also need a new water treatment system.
