I was a Professional with expertise in this field & travelled with group to Haiti

Beyond Borders has been working in Haiti for over 18 years - working alongside Haitians on a grassroots level. They strive to see that all Haitian children have access to quality education. They also support adult literacy. One of their major focus' is to cut the flow of Haitian children into domestic servitude... basically child slavery.
Please support Beyond Borders, who has a long term relationship with Haiti and her people. They will be there long after the larger international aid organizations have moved on.
For five consecutive years Beyond Borders has been awarded the highest rating from Charity Navigator™, America’s largest independent evaluator of charities.

The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... I have traveled to Haiti with this organization and am in awe at their ability to share the culture and the beauty of the people with North Americans.
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... The way they work alongside the Haitian people - as partners - as opposed to going in and doing things for them.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... The staff are dedicated and sincere in their mission. Many of the staff have been working with the organization for many, many years.
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... Beyond Borders would work alongside their Haitian counterparts to determine the many priorities and needs. Their current focuses are on quality education for all children, adult literacy, and the prevention of child domestic servitude.
Ways to make it better!
- My experience would have been better if... I would have liked to stay longer than 10 days.
- If I ran this organization, I would... I have no comment here.
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Today, the greatest challenge is to obtain the funding necessary to bring supplies and necessary aid to the people of Haiti after the devastating earthquake.
- One thing I'd also say is that... There are opportunities to travel to Haiti via their Transformational Travel program. It has indeed transformed lives!
