I met Megs, the founder of Beverly's Birthdays, last year when she was establishing her organization and developing relationships within the homeless service provider community in and around Pittsburgh. Beverly's Birthdays has a compelling mission that is addressing a need that has gone unmet until now. Children in homeless situations face countless challenges on a daily basis; making time for celebration and joy is often lost in the intense struggle to secure housing, food and other basic needs. Beverly's Birthdays is to be commended for recognizing the incredible significance of such celebrations in the lives of children who are enduring tough times. This creative, passionate, fun-loving and responsible team is making such a difference and I am proud that our organizations are able to support each other's work with children and youth experiencing homelessness.

Beverly's Birthdays is a wonderful organization with big heart behind it! I am in awe by the passion, dedication and enthusiasm that founder Megs Yunn pours into Beverly's Birthdays. Beverly's Birthdays is there to make sure that children in need are celebrated on their most important day. Megs and her cheer squad don't just provide these children with birthday celebrations. They show these children that they are loved!

I recently became familiar with Beverley's Birthday and totally fell in love with their mission. I instantly became a volunteer. Megs Yunn, founder of Beverly's Birthdays is a mastermind when it comes to helping homeless and at risk children get the birthday celebrations they deserve. As a volunteer, I am so impressed at the motivation, determination, and organization of Megs and her Beverley's Birthdays crew. Megs runs a well oiled machine....No doubt. I am honored to be a small part of something that reaches so many. All children deserve a birthday...Beverley's Birthdays makes that happen! Way to go Megs and crew! Way to go Beverley's Birthdays!!!

I have known the founder of Beverly's Birthdays, Megs Yunn, for many years. She has the biggest heart and the most creative sense of service of anyone I know. When she first told me about Beverly and her idea for this organization I was hooked. The love that she puts into every aspect of it from training the volunteers to the birthday in a box is beyond measure. I don't live in the area but I hope to visit on a party day so I can see first hand the excitement in the kids eyes when the party starts. Pittsburgh is lucky to have such a wonderful person leading such a fabulous organization!!

Beverly's Birthdays has provided an opportunity for homeless kids of all ages in the Pittsburgh region have birthday celebrations. Each birthday party is filled with games, gifts, and an abundance of smiles and laughter. More importantly, the children get a great childhood memory and a day to call their own. I am proud to support such a wonderful organization and can't wait to continue growing in 2013.

It is amazing to see how much the children appreciate these birthday parties. With the little children it is no surprise that they love it. When you see the teenagers fully involved, helpful, unselfish it reminds you how something as little as a cupcake and party games can change a child's day. They ask for so little, a basketball, nail polish, candy, but it means the world to them. I have definitely been blessed to work with this non-profit.

The organization started with such heart, and that overflows into every aspect of its operations. Even in my research to become involved, I can feel the energy and excitement that is committed. Not to mention what a tremendous need it fulfills – bringing recognition and joy to populations at risk. There is indeed more to celebrate!

My daughter created Beverly's Birthdays in order to provide birthday celebrations for homeless children living in shelters in the Pittsburgh area. I am so proud of the work she and the team have accomplished. It is an honor to donate to this fantastic organization--every dime is a dime well spent! Each month I donate the birthday party craft and it is so rewarding to know that the children enjoy the activities. I have helped create spider hats, baseball pennants, guitars, and a mad scientist game. Get involved with this great organization and help them to spread birthday cheer! www.beverlysbirthdays.org

Beverly's Birthdays provides at-risk youth with a birthday party celebration and gifts that make them feel special on their special day! Beverly's Birthdays serves three shelters in the Greater Pittsburgh Area, allowing all children from that shelter to participate in monthly birthday celebrations. Each celebration is decided on by the child's age...ranging from Super Hero parties to Beach-themed parties! Different activities are created for each birthday party like pin the baseball on home plate and water balloon tosses. Each party also has crafts for the kids to make so everyone has something to call their own. After a pizza dinner, we sing "happy birthday" to the birthday boy or girl and they get to make a wish and blow out their very own birthday candles. In my family, birthdays are always a big celebration in which we are surrounded by family and friends. For these kids, they are not as fortunate, many of which never even have a birthday cake, let alone a party. Beverly's Birthdays mission is priceless...touching children in a way no other nonprofit can.

My wife started Beverly's Birthdays in order to help children in need. It has been an honor to be a part of the building of this great organization. Every party I attend is an absolute blast and you can see firsthand why the work we do is so important. Our family is deeply devoted to service and I love that we are able to contribute in such a positive way to our community.
