I worked as a DSP at Easthaven in WI and had a wonderful experience. ! On a daily basis I could see the impact we had on our clients by taking the time to care for them and give them the attention they need and deserve. The staff that I worked with were enjoyable! I really felt like I made a difference and it made a difference in me as well. I look forward to establishing this type of needed work in the foreign country of Malawi, Africa !

I toured some neighborhood homes where Bethesda's people lived. WOW - they are living truly meaningful lives. I see Bethesda's people come to my church - St. Mark's, and worship so cheerfully. SO, I helped initiate & organize Luther Prep high school students to volunteer at the Watertown Bethesda Thrift store so that more people could impact the lives of people with disabilities. The students LOVE making a difference and working on Saturdays. I loved working with Bethesda and Luther Prep to form that partnership. EVERYONE wins - but mostly: people with disabilities that Bethesda serves!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Seeing their neighborhood group homes, then seeing several of their Bethesda Thrift stores - whose profits benefit the people served by Bethesda - where the volunteers truly let their light shine by their passionate desire to help people with disabilities! I also experienced the professional staff in Bethesda's Corporate office working with a volunteer and High School students to put together a win-win-win (stores, students, people with disabilities) situation!

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Want a monthly e-newsletter that told me what was happening in the Thrift Stores, with their Finanicial situation so I could donate online, and with their Religious Life services - it's so cool that they are reaching out with the Gospel Message to people all over the WORLD that have disabilities.
