As a professional Public Relations person, I am dazzled by the high quality radio/TV shows BTSYA provides, and the total incorporation of social media into their work. I am currently the PR person for the Bethesda, Maryland chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE). Like many organizations, we're still expanding into the social media area, Cynthia Brian's work is an example for us!
Given the type of messages teenagers receive from traditional media ("The Hangover, Part II," "Knocked Up," etc.) it is so refreshing to see how BTSYA involves and excites teenagers in a positive way!

Cynthia Brian manages Be the Star You Are! in an exceptionally gifted manner. Her enthusiasm and motivation serve as tremendous support for not only the people served by the organization, but also the volunteers and staff working for BTSYA! She's a natural leader. I've worked with her, performed on radio with her, and promoted her and the nonprofit's efforts in my publications for several years. She never fails to impress, and her position as role-model has catapulted others into new lives, all because they crossed the paths of Cynthia and BTSYA! Phenomenal example.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

following its work as it affected kids and teens in literacy endeavors.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

do nothing that Cynthia Brian isn't already doing.

Be the Star You Are! is a phenomenally empowering organization for teens, teen advocates, writers and human beings period. I've followed their rise for six years, participated in the radio shows, donated to their causes and even written a chapter for their recent project Be the Star You Are! For Teens - the chapter on HOPE. I can't say enough good about these people and their leader, Cynthia Brian, a true Renaissance woman who lets nothing stand in her way to do good for others. Needless to say, I'm a huge fan. C. Hope Clark, Editor FundsforWriters Writer's Digest's 101 Best Websites for Writers, 2001-2010 Ten years of recognized excellence

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

appearing as a guest author. The uplifting treatment I received had lasting impact on my work as an author. What marvelous charisma and concern for people!

More feedback...

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

break records helping teens and literacy. This executive director paves new roads in her mission to make the world a better place.

Be The Star You Are has been part of the World Talk Radio Network for several years and I have had the pleasure of working with Cynthia Brian as a producer and Host Services Director since its inception. Cynthia has an engaging personality and it comes across on the air and with her guests. Her long running program is among our most popular and we are very glad to support the radio program.

The program that Cynthia puts on weekly "Be The Star You Are" has been a mainstay in programming on our network for well over 5 years now. It is an exceptional show that our listeners look forward to hearing weekly. Cynthia is always tirelessly working to help other through so many different avenues and we here at WorldTalk Radio are proud to be the network that Cynthia's program airs on.

Cynthia is a empowering and energetic role model for women and girls. She knows her passion and listens to her heart and achieves her goals. There is nothing more exciting than knowing people who exude the energy of endless possibilities. These women are needed in our lives and communities if we wish to see what is attainable. Be the Star You are Inc. and Cynthia as the leader, is a role model that we all should know.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Cynthia and the volunteers

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

fabulous and dediciated

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

the would be the best in what they do and would be very successful in achieving their long term goals.

Ways to make it better...

if I had more time to spend with them

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

lack of funds

One thing I'd also say is that...

This is a great organization with a empowering role model, Cynthia Brown.
