I have not had the privilege of viewing an AXIS performance live, but I have been awe inspired and struck by the physical & spiritual beauty their performances convey. The integration of different abilities brings focus to the strength of the individual and has inspired me to find my own inner strengths, for this I thank them! I look forward to the day I can experience their performance live.

Axis Dance is an incredible Dance Company and community partner. Their performances are top notch mind altering experiences with fantastic dancing, choreography, music and theatrics. The organization is inclusive with their open workshops and children's programs.

AXIS is lovely and amazing! I have done videography for them over the past 15 years - and I am still constantly astonished and awed by the beauty and emotional energy of their work. They're performances are innovative, inspiring and exciting.They teach. They dance. They move. They ARE moving. If you have the chance to see them, do so - they do not disappoint!

I first heard of Axis, a few weeks before their last presence in dancing with the stars. I did my research and was in disbelieve of the amazing work of promoting integration through modern dance this group has made. This last weekend I had the amazing pleasure of seing them perform live, and I can tell you my expectations were swept, by an impressive and talented group of individuals. Keep up the good work.

I have been able to see AXIS perform since 2000. Each year they get better and better. AXIS has grown to be a "World Class" dance company able to attract top name choreographers to create new and exciting works. In addition, AXIS has a wonderful educational outreach program that has impacted the lives of children as well as adults in a very positive way. Each time I have seen AXIS perform I have been moved... Most of the guests I have brought have felt the same. AXIS is truly a remarkable organization of talented and hard working individuals. See AXIS Dance Company perform. You will not be disappointed.

Axis dance is a triple "threat": world-class performance ensemble, empowering and mind-opening teachers in school assemblies and workshops, advocates for architectural accessibility for audiences and performers in theaters across the country. I first saw the company 15 years ago and was blown away. The interesting thing is that it's not a one-time revelation. The company shifts and changes as dancers come and go; it's a new lesson every time about capitalizing on the strengths one has to offer. And consistently the company touches something deep in each of us about vulnerability and trust, the human condition we all share. I housed a dancer, helped with performances and parties, served on the Board. It's a well-run organization doing amazing things. I feel lucky to be a part of it.

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
Yes. I am more familiar and at ease with members of the disabled community. I also understand much better the many ways our environment still makes it difficult for physically challenged people to attend performances. We think of one or two wheelchairs, not 5 or 10 or 20. Come to an Axis performance and realize how hidden this population is because it's so difficult to be out and about...

AXIS is an Awesome Dance Company. I have viewed a lot of their videos & the strength & talent the dancers have is amaaazing. They are just great. I wish them all the best in their travels. More public awareness of your organisation.
I joined the Board for AXIS in 2010 after volunteering my time as a marketing graphic designer for two years, creating brochures and other promotional materials for AXIS's Open Season shows. If I was intrigued by AXIS as a volunteer, I was utterly blown away by their masterful performance when I saw first saw them live. If you haven’t had an opportunity to catch one of their electric performances, you must see them: prepare to be transported by their artistry and athleticism. You won't be disappointed. AXIS also offers some pretty terrific community education programs for adults and children, "enrich[ing] communities by providing education on dance and disability regardless of social economic or physical differences."

Allow more people to know about them and support them.
I have been at AXIS for a month, am leaving in December and wish I could stay longer! The AXIS family are so welcoming to old and new friends and it is a privilege to be a part of their work this Fall. The company spend a lot of time engaging with the community including a wonderful event called Dance Access Day where around 800 community members young and not so young had the chance to see one of three free educational shows. The physically integrated dance company have no limitations when it comes to expanding the art of dance. The work is top quality and it is wonderful to see them touring across the country. To me AXIS are everything a non-profit should be- they give with graciousness and are creative, dynamic and fun!

Without any doubt, one of the most exhilirating dance companies of the New Age;that is Axis. They represent compassion, unconditional love and infectious enthusiasm): They had me at: "We'd like to work with you and further develop your potential". Its all it took for me to trust them to build a connection within my mind,body & soul

My experience with Axis began earlier this year! They were having Open Auditions,for their Winter Program,LightShelter held at The New World School of The Arts. I auditioned twice and was selected to participate along with some 15 other able/disable bodies. What I walked away with was breathtaking! See in 2008, I suffered a tragic motorcycle accident as a result of a Hit & Run,in which I lost my R leg BK. Its been along road of recovery,yet with a prosthetic leg,rehabilitation with a trainer and a strong support group of friends & family. I realized there is nothing Stopping me, from living a fulfilled life with my new reality): Thru Axis, I have met others who strive to do the same with more or less..... My experience helped me Heal from within; as we had to trust in eachother,create dynamics through movement without vocalization. Make the most of space and energy regardless of your preconceived notions.
