This organization provides wonderful field trips and educational speakers for bird lovers and nature lovers in general. In addition, they maintain a beautiful property right in the middle of town. I love to eat lunch there and have seen warblers, woodpeckers, hawks, and osprey, just to name a few. I have volunteered there doing anything from envelope stuffing to weed pulling, and everyone is friendly and grateful for their volunteers. It's a very fun atmosphere.

To Ex-AoMC, what a shame your into cyber bashing. When I took my kids to the Childrens Workshop a while back, there were children everywhere, having fun and learning. I think maybe you have overlooked the BIG picture of this fine organization. Shame!

This used to be a good conservation organization. A year ago, new board members took control. While they complain about being too busy to do things, such as produce a newsletter (none since April 2011), they purged or alienated most of the people who used to do the important work. As often happens, they blame everyone else, especially those they've driven off, for their problems. They've shrunk from a player in local conservation to a select social club for bird watchers.
