Mission: ACSS empowers homeless individuals to achieve economic self-sufficiency and their ultimate potential to thrive in life.
Target demographics: Homeless adult men and women.
Programs: Our programs include CareerWorks, a job readiness training and placement program; Veterans Employment Assistance Program, a targeted initiative aimed at helping veterans re-integrate into the workforce; the ACSS/Gateway Recovery Program, a transitional housing program that provides substance abuse treatment to adult men in recovery; Café 458, a life stabilization program and restaurant for homeless adults with mental and physical disabilities; and an 8-Week Computer Training Program. Additionally, ACSS operates social enterprise ventures – Café 458 Weekend Brunch and CST Janitorial Services – which provide unrestricted revenue for the agency and job opportunities for homeless individuals.
ACSS has enlightened me greatly with tools to be successful and self sufficient. The classes are AMAZING and the knowledge is priceless. As a graduate of the program *COHORT 40*, I am very pleased to have been a part of this program and would recommend to anyone in need of personal affirmation and self sufficiency.
I utilized their service. I went through the program because I was told that they would help me find a job. However, I was disappointed in that I was given no job leads and even when I shared information with them regarding the places where I was job hunting (and they had contacts there), they would not contact the company on my behalf. I primarily performed my own job search and located my own job. The marta cards that they provided were very helpful and allowed me to travel around and search for work.
