ATID at Sinai Temple

Atid is a warm and welcoming environment. I was looking for a group that shared my beliefs and my idea of what a young professioanls group should accomplish and do, and it far outweighs any of my expectations. There are so many ways to contribute and benefit that I not only wanted to learn more but actually become an active memeber participating in the events.

I was honored to be a participant of the Coaching Havurah group that was started with ATID members. It provided a valuable outlet to grow among my peers and to create a Jewish identity within the congregration. From this intimate, monthly meeting, I developed a sense of community and a stronger network of close friendships. It allowed me to explore my life's path and helped me become a more informed leader within my faith.

I am selective in what I choose to dedicate my time to in the Jewish Community. Atid and the Atid Director + Board attract a large number of people, activities and, as a board, we are open to new ideas.
There is something for everyone: outdoor hiking or kayaking; Shabbat @ Homes; wine & cheese; torah studies. Any level of faith or Jewish culture can be had, as well as the people you meet.

Poll members and see what they would like. Find positive ways to increase membership, even though we are a good amount.. how to further engage current members.
Community. Belonging. Friends. These the the meaningful words that surround the Atid Family. Since 2007, I have been involved with Atid. The leaders - Stacey Zackin & Rabbi Nicole Guzik are incredible.. and irreplaceable. I thank them and the organization for making me want to build upon my life in LA, where I grew up. I had broken up from a long-term boyfriend at the time when I joined Atid's Coaching Havurah in 2007.. I was unemployed and lonely and Atid replaced that emptiness with support and love.

ATID has been a great source for connecting young jewish professionals in the great los angeles area. It gives us a chance to branch out of our work lifes in a safe jewish setting. It challenges us with strong educational programming and religious learning.

I returned to Los Angeles after obtaining a Master's Degree in Texas, and I immediately started searching for a synagogue in which I felt comfortable. I tried synagogues in Brentwood, Beverly Hills, Beverlywood, Santa Monica, and the Pacific Palisades. They ranged from Orthodox to Neo-Reformed, but none of them felt quite right. Then I found ATID at Sinai Temple. Being surrounded by observant, forward-thinking, and friendly folks of the same age, I immediately felt like a true temple member. The group has helped me give back to the community through my involvement in Big Sunday projects, High Holidays, and weekly events designed to be fun and informative. What I like most about ATID is they are constantly looking for ways to improve. Rather than rest on their laurels and grow complacent, the organization is constantly asking for feedback and suggestions, and then responding to the ideas that are presented. The true strength of this organization is their ability to adapt and grow, and I look forward to many years of participation with ATID.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The people I've met
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Use that money to focus on Jewish charities, grow our membership by offering more dynamic programs and experiences, and continue to provide a safe and fun environment for young Jewish professionals to interact.
Ways to make it better...
I had more time to enjoy all that ATID has to offer!
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
The lack of participation from the young Jewish community, the lack of significant donations from the young Jewish community (because most of our members are just growing their business and do not yet have the funds to give).

I was invited to speak on a panel for singles along with a rabbi and a matchmaker. The event was full - 75 people in the room - eating, drinking, engaging in important questions. ATID does dozens of events every year, but from my limited involvement, they really put their members first, trying to provide for unique and valuable programming for the Jewish community in Los Angeles.
The Great!

The packed house of eager singles who wanted to learn how to find love in the Los Angeles Jewish community.

ATID has been a wonderful organization to be involved with. I have both volunteered and served on the board. I attend many great events that they put on and have made amazing friends through my participation. Friday Night Live is one of their best programs and always provides both a fulfilling spiritual and social experience. I also enjoy the monthly Shabbat at Home events. I have gone on two trips with ATID, one to Germany & one to Israel, which have been life changing. The staff and clergy are special and truly care about providing lovely experienced for both members & non-members alike.

ATID is what it says it is. The premiere Jewish group for younger jewish types in LA. It offer the full range of programs from servies with 1000 people to hikes with 10. It is inviting, engaging, cutting edge and traditional and most importantly it is inclusive. ATID's Friday Night Live servicves helped me find a spriritual home at a time when I needed both spirit and a home.
