I am both a volunteer and a client served, which I think has given me an even better understanding of how this amazing group of people work together for the good of the dogs in their care. I had been a volunteer with GSROC for 10 years before I actually adopted two dogs as pets for myself. I have witnessed genuine concern for both the dogs and the potential adopters, a desire to educate that surpasses any organization I've served with, and an unyielding commitment to the successful placement of all dogs in the program. This no-kill, all-volunteer rescue struggles for funds like all charities, but we are able to accomplish miracles every day through the generous support of our partners and friends.

My husband and I were first introduced to Association of German Shepherd Rescuers, Inc. in the summer of 2011 when we were looking to add a 2nd dog to our family. All the volunteers we interacted with were wonderful. You could tell that they all truly cared about the dogs they were trying to find homes for and the future dogs that they could help. Each person took the time to help us find the right match as well as provide us wtih as much information about the breed, specific dogs and resources that were available to us. They kept in touch with us as well in the weeks and months after the adoption to check in and provide support. It was because of these interactions that I have decided to volunteer with this organization and help care for the dogs that are looking for their forever families and homes. This is truly an organization with a lot of heart!

I adopted 2 dogs from GSROC and was so impressed with their caring, responsible organization that I decided I wanted to be a part of it. Working as a volunteer gives me the opportunity to make a difference not only in the dogs' lives, but also to work with the wonderful people who open their hearts and homes to give these animals another chance at a happy life. For whatever I have given as a volunteer, I have been given back a hundred times!

German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County is a wonderful organization! It is run solely by volunteers and donations, and the group does such a great job rescuing last-chance dogs, providing for their physical and mental health needs, and getting them into great homes. They truly care about the dogs, and are very careful to have the right match between dog and prospective adopter. I feel they are the best place to adopt a German Shepherd in southern California.

10 years ago we adopted our first shepherd, Molly, from GSROC. She recently passed away, but was the reason why I started volunteering with this awesome, dedicated, tireless group of people. I am proud to be part of this fantastic organization who rehomed over 400 beautiful dogs in 2011. Some of the "before" pictures of our dogs are almost too horrible to look at, but with love and devotion, these abused, neglected and thrown away animals are transformed into healthy, beautiful creatures that find love with their "furever families." We are now enjoying our second adoptee, Midas (in the picture). Thanks GSROC for keeping him safe until he found us :)

.. Thru a link on the social media site fb, I was introduced to gsroc.org in April, 2010. Courage, was a gorgeous GSD that was found emaciated, eating, rocks & dirt to survive.. The pictures of Courage were raw & graphic. I am an animal lovr, philanthropist & business owner, I knew @ that moment I had to get invloved. The volunteers, drs, nurses, caregivers, entire staff give these beautiful furbabies just what thei need Devotion of lov, endless hrs, medical treatment, fundrasiers. What most of the public doesn't see is their endless campagins in creating new wai's to get folks invloved & support throught the communiti. I am feel blessed from within to have this realtionship w/mi friends from so far awai.. I continue to donate monthli to this nonprofit, thru mi business I will continue to donate thru different platforms. This is a relationship that will last a lifetime. If you are lQQking for the tru winner here it would be gsroc, org & the furbabies. it is a win win win situation. Much lov to all the volunteers. Warm regards,"The CupCake Ladi" Nefertiti www.TheCupCakeLadi.com

I applaud and commend this organization for their tireless efforts to help GSD's in distress and place them in loving homes. The devotion and loyalty of this breed of dog is boundless and they deserve people like this to come to their rescue when through hardship or carelessness, their human companions have let them down. Our GSD was raised in his youth with our 2 others and since their passing has seemed to relish being the center of attention for the last few years,a feeling he well deserves,so we will allow him that. When we are ready to share our home with a new furbaby this WILL be the organizatin we turn to and support.Keep up the good work,it is priceless!

I cannot express in an email how much we appreciate GSROC. We now have 2 puppies from the rescue and love them both. The rescue worked with us to make sure we had great German Shepards that would fit in our lifestyle. They were very responsive in the beginning and have been very helpful with answers to questions since the adoption. We know we can count on them to support us in the future. I would go to no other adoption service. Thanks you so much GSROC for your help. Greg and Jacque Sherman

I'm a first time dog owner and the help and information they provided was so great. I was able to email and call with any questions I had. Every one was supportive and they made sure we got just the right dog for our home. We are so happy and are looking to adopt again. :)

I've been volunteering with the German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County for less than a year. In this short time, I've seen SO many dogs go to wonderful homes. Some, even after careful screening, weren't the magic fit we hoped they would be. This rescue follows up and makes sure EVERYONE is happy with the matches they facilitate. If a match isn't right, they keep trying until they find the right one. And the hard to home dogs aren't given up on. We keep working with them until we break through all of the neglect and abuse from their past.
