My first experience with AALAC was at their EMBRACE fundraising event. During the event, I discovered the amazing work they did: fighting against cyberbullying, assisting in a Burmese refugee's rights and helping individuals protect their right to vote. Not only that but I realized the overwhelming support from the community that stand by AALAC's work and commitment. It inspired me to get more involved.

AALAC isn't just about advocacy, it's about the people. They build individual relationships with people and maintain them throughout their growth and development. It is truly amazing the work AALAC does and continues to do. They are paving the road for Asian Americans across the nation by educating, engaging, and empowering people everyday.

AALAC is a legal advocacy center promoting the rights of Asian Americans in Georgia and the Southeast region of the US. They serve an arguably under-recognized demographic in the greater topic of minority injustice and work hard to dispel the myth that Asian Americans are the "model minority." Moreover, AALAC's work extends beyond addressing inequalities facing solely Asian Americans but rather addresses social injustice issues facing many segments of society.

If the organization had proper funding and more staff, their impact would grow exponentially.

I first read about AALAC in the newspapers do to their work concerning undocumented students attending college, and so from there I went on to learn more about their mission and what they do. The Asian American Legal Advocacy Center is a great nonprofit organization that helps Asian Americans in the Georgia region by promoting the rights of Asian Americans and educating them on important bills and laws. They've done a wonderful job by being active in the society and informing people of the laws. I've really enjoyed working with them at their fundraisers and I am truly inspired by the support they give to the community. AALAC is a great organization.
