AFTH has been in Wimberley for 15 years. I first learned of Arts from the Heart when we moved to Wimberley. The school teachers recommended my daughter sign up to meet some friends. What a great program. Afterschool art classes taught by artists. There was no charge for the afterschool classes. Years later I find my self still involved as a board member because the organization has never strayed from its mission statement. Of offering cultural art education at no charge to the student and turning no child away! AFTH relies solely on donations. AFTH continues to expand offering not only afterschool programs but also an annual student art show, annual scholarship to graduating senior, special ed art therapy, and now is going strong in 2 schools in Wimberley. AFTH works with the school district to provide the staff and art supplies so that 850 students can have art education in schools that would not have the budget to provide the class.
