I was an exhibiting artist at the 2009 AEM Arts and Entertainment Ministry Night. The program is run with the utmost professionalism and integrity. My experience with the organization has made a huge impact on my professional, and personal life. The conference I had the privilege to attend in 2010, was inspirational and motivating. Joel and Michelle continue to help their artists with monthly meetings that help us stay motivated, and focused. This organization is a benefit to Art and Entertainment industry, and a huge blessing to people out there trying to make it, in this difficult, and challenging field.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Continued encouragement, monthly events, exhibition opportunities, and a source of support, and motivation. I also have met many other artists that have helped me stay on track, and helped me to continue to pursue my passion of painting.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Make it go world wide!!!

The Arts & Entertainment Ministry is a wonderful ministry that is insightful, intellectual and practical. Joel is very articulate and has a great vision to equip Christians as artists.

This organization needs to grow in scope so more people can have access to their materials.

I started volunteering for Arts & Entertainment Ministries (AEM) when it first launched and have recently accepted their offer to join their board. Through this organization I have fine tuned my understanding of art and culture and my role as an artist and patron. The founders care about the church as a whole, not just the arts, but they see the great opportunity and calling to do their part for the kingdom through specifically redeeming artists and the arts. They are the most well-rounded in this goal of any arts ministry I've seen. As an example, they are one of the only ministries focused on all genres of art, not just cinema.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My role as an assistant in marketing for a major film studio and currently as a spouse to a development executive in the film industry. I've also witnessed how affirming this ministry has been to Christians who feel alone in their unique calling or educational to those who never considered that their faith had anything to do with their art.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

To be honest, I wouldn't have joined the board of any organization I thought needed any major changes. The best change that could happen would be the hiring of needed staff and greater funding so their materials can reach an even wider audience.

I was blessed to be selected to exhibit my drawings October of 2009 in the AEM Night of Arts and Entertainment. Since then I have been attending the once a month gathering of artists to discuss artists issues from a Christian point of view. At times this gathering resembles a bible study, sometimes it is community building, and at other times it is Q an A where artists can voice their concerns and experiences regarding the larger arts communities they are a part of. I find this group particularly exciting because the church at large doesn't always understand the experience, personality, passion, focus, and unique vision that God imparts into the artistic temperment. In my lifetime I have seen the church take wonderful steps forward in embracing the visual arts. (I am a painter.) But in my view the church still has a ways to go. This ministry speaks to these issues frankly and with an open mind. This ministry also encourages artists to look deeper into their spiritual walk to understand how their relationship with the Lord will influence their work. This deeper sense of accountability, I believe helps artists to be more consistent in fusing together personal faith and artistic output. I look forward to seeing where AEM goes in the future. There is a lot to explore in how we as artists bring faith and creativity together. In a way I feel like we've only just begun. Furthermore, I look forward to the impact AEM will have on the world with the thinker/artists it influences. Isn't this the goal? I believe our goal is to bring first rate art into the world at large. Like all great art AEM artists will create works that will expand and open peoples mind to see in new ways. Because we have Christ, we will bring a fresh spirit into the hearts and minds of our viewers.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

...my personal thinking about my art, especially how it is influenced by my faith in Christ and other aspects of the deeper well. I have met other artists of like mind. Fellowship with other Christian artists has been fantastic.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

....I would take a closer look at the current trends in the visual arts as well as the very competitive high standards in this field. I would like this issue to be addressed. We need to distinguish between Illustration and Fine Art. As Christians... is art making necessarily illustrating Christian principles? In my opinion this needs to be looked at more carefully.

This ministry is on the cutting edge of teaching how to create professional art from a Christian worldview. Joel and Michelle Pelsue really understand the importance of art in our culture and the importance the Bible gives art. They also are not afraid to tackle the tough issues that are unique to artists. They tackle these from a very balanced but Biblical perspective. I've been so encouraged by this ministry to see the importance of my own art and to see the responsibility I have as a creator of culture.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Reshaping the way I see art from a Christian worldview.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Make it better funded.

This group is providing highest quality instruction, healing, and education to artists and the Christian community. They are standing in the gap that has been waning for decades. I found it to be a solid, intelligent, grace-filled group that serves nationally and internationally.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Placing myself under their instruction and advice. I gained a deep understanding of my career and how it is supported by my faith. They earned my trust and highest respect, I experienced their integrity.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Nothing...I wish they could expand and be in even more cities and places.
