A brilliant and completely unconvential look at Rossini's late masterpiece, the Petite messe solennelle, held at the Dallas Museum of Art with the addition of staged commedia dell' arte characters in counterpoint to the mass setting.
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... expanded, highly unusual presentations.
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... the clarity of its mission and how it contributes to the prerservation of great choral music.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... young and old, all very helpful.
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... establish a permanent endowment to sustain, educate, and greatly expand its operations using this presentation model.
Ways to make it better!
- My experience would have been better if... I had had a seat closer to the performers.
- If I ran this organization, I would... seek great funding opportunities.
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... sustaining their work in a difficult economy.
- One thing I'd also say is that... I didn't have much appreciation for choral music outside of churches prior to experiencing this group.
